Any good arcades in the Philly area?

I'm gonna have to check out that barcade the next time I am near PA.
They seem to have a nice collection.. plus Microbrews and Fish & Chips:)

Wait for a few months until the hype dies down, or try to go at an off peak time. We went there on a Friday night and the place was wall-to-wall hipsters, very crowded. I didn't even try to get through the crowd at the bar to order a beer. The games? Tempest - down, Tron - down, Berzerk - down. I only got to play 2 games, Asteroids Deluxe and Carnival. The monitor on AD was very blurry. On our way out, there was line to get in and they were only letting people in when other people left. It was nice to look around and see all the familiar marquees, but honestly, I would have had a better time in my basement with a case of beer.

The first night I went there were several games down (Defender, Turbo, Spy Hunter, Popeye, Tempest). The next night there was a technician on site working on them. The only one not working when I left was Tempest and he was still working on it. Made me wonder about basing a business on the reliability of 30-year-old machines.

It was crowded both nights I went as well. Hard to get a beer and I didn't even try to order food. Most were not playing games though so no troubles there.

I wondered if the AD was blurry. I hadn't seen one in so long I wasn't sure. Didn't stop me from dropping $5 in it though.

I figured the machines are ambiance, actually probably losing money. The money is made on alcohol.

Very true--- and the drinks were not cheap. I wouldn't go there regularly if the machines were always down though. But enough people seem to go there just to drink and hang out so what do I know?
