Any game is fun for a while? Whats your favorite shortly owned game.

I contend that most any working video game is worth a buy if the price is right. Its good to have it for a bit and learn the game and decide whether its a keeper or not. Tell me your favorite game that you only kept for a short bit.

Mine is Mat-Mania. I've owned two of them. First time i let it go I was trying to downsize my collection as i had bought too much for my space in a small amount of time. I instantly regretted it. Found another one (in a different art package). And had it less than a year as I traded it in a lot deal for another game i wanted but couldnt afford for cash.

Im sure ill find another eventually.
Did you figure out how to beat Coco Savage? Once you do, the game is pretty much over, the rest are chumps.

After thoughtful consideration, I submit Bagman. I remember it being rare back in the day, and I remember enjoying it. Now that I own it, it's way too difficult to be fun.

The only game I want back is Subroc 3D.

I traded the upright to get a Venture Line Spiders. I'd still make that trade again today.
I think I'd like to get the cockpit Subroc 3D when I get one again. That won't be until I've got a place made for my games though.

super hang on. wish i never fucking sold mine like an idiot.
I hear you, brother. Traded mine for a PlayStation 2 console back in 2013. Lasted up till about four years ago and then my son decided he was done with it so now it sits in the garage collecting dust.

Really? A PS2 console in 2013 was worth like $50. There's got to be more, like it came with 100 games or something...

Another mention for Asteroids. I love the game, I just didn't love owning one. Mine wasn't working, and needed board repair. I ended up giving it away 2 months later to a friend in trade for kindness.

The thing you do for friends...

Oh shit, I meant kiosk. Like the ones that used to be at Best Buy. Silver cabinet, LED edge lit marquee, 13 inch LCD TV, etc.

Id imagine you could sell a ps2 kiosk today and get enough money back on it to get a Super Hang On. But i might be wrong.

This reminds me of a story from almost twenty years ago. I worked for Gamestop one year for Christmas. I was coming off a very rough year personally. The guy who managed it was formerly a manager at a video store i worked at. I was between jobs after a company closure and had a toddler. We were crashing at his place (as we had moved back to the city from the previous lost job) and he offered me the part time gig while i sorted things out.

For some reason, the Gamestop had loaned the XBox Kiosk to the movie theater across the street for some movie tie in promotion. And that Christmas was the year the Xbox 360 launched. Gamestop corporate decided they didnt want the kiosk back. it was probably supposed to be disposed of. But what happened was we loaded it up and brought it back to his place. He didn't see the value in it and only wanted it for the TV set. He already had a console and it was old hat anyways with the new one coming out. I told him it was foolish to dismantle it and it would have value as a kisosk. But the dude stripped it for parts. Kept the tv and sold off the console. Last i saw those things were getting around a grand.

Yeah, I would love to sell it, the only problem is it's missing the controller brackets. I've been meaning to fab some up, but after looking on the Internet for a few years now, I realize there were two different styles, and they're very intricate. I thought it would be pretty straightforward, but there's like five freaking pieces of metal that have to be bent and formed to make one bracket. I have seen listings for some parts and incomplete brackets on eBay for years, but the sellers always want 100+ dollars for the incomplete brackets. And of course as time has gone on I've lost or missed out on pretty much every buy it now or auction there was because I couldn't justify spending the money and not even getting the complete part.

Once I get the controller brackets figured out, it will be up for sale. The thing works perfectly. The console works, the TV works and I even still have the original TV remote for it.

Ice cold beer was fun for a few hours.

Then I mastered it and it was boring... and none of my friends want to play it because they think it's too hard.

Goodbye...

I had an APB for a hot second. I liked that game, but owned it for such a short time, I usually forget I ever owned it.

I'm still upset I got rid of my Marble Madness. I loved that game. Had it in the middle of everything being awful in '08ish and needed the cash so I sold it.

the trick at that point is to switch your joystick hand and button hand to learn the game again.
Robotron becomes a new game when you switch hands. We always do that at parties. Loads of fun! Having another player shoot while you control movement is fun too and vice versa.
