i'm here giving two talks at JPL. back in the day (when i was in grad school at caltech - late 80's to early 90's) there was a great arcade on colorado - can't remember the name. but i'm sure it's gone now. google'ing only gives 'pak mann' which is closed. any suggestions?

There aren't any.

Downtown LA, which is nearby, has two. There is a place called Japan Arcade in Little Tokyo.

There's another arcade on Broadway near 7th street which used to be mostly classics but is now mostly 1990s games. It's definitely a ghetto arcade, so be wary...

You can try to get into Penny Arcadia. I've never heard of anyone actually seeing those games but I'd be curious. Contact Greg and ask him...he has some amazing stuff, apparently.

There is a Nickle & Nickle somewhere near Buena Park IIRC? There was Regan Years arcade in fullerton, but its been closed for a while now.

There's still a Nickel Nickel in Huntington Beach, if I'm not mistaken. They closed the one in Lake Forest, though, so it'd be worth a check to see if the GB one is still open before making the trip...

dang - too bad there's not one right here :/...

i'm well aware of the fine fare at Lucky Boy :). can't compare to Oki Dog though!

Yes I grew up 8 miles south of Pasadena and we'd always be going to Pac-man arcade or whatever they kept on changing their name to, to avoid IP conflicts with Namco.

The arcade is long gone, a furniture store now. The inventory or what's left of it is still being sold off slowly... Their high ebay prices don't help much.
