Any DDR's in your collection?

Pro: it's fun, it seems like it would make a lot of money on a route

Con: you generally look like a tool while playing it, it's exhausting, the machine is friggin huge, they go for big money, for a machine that gets stomped on all day reliability has to be a factor especially when buying a used machine.

I'm not going to be able to manage it right now. If anyone else is interested, here's a pic. They guy is asking $500 in the ad but stated that he would sell it for $400. Here's the link: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/tag/1821486956.html

it's only $400 but the solo is like the worse machine to have.

I got rid of my Wii because it was too much exercise.......

"Old man voice" I remember when videogames were fun and you didn't have to break a sweat to enjoy them.......

One of those went for well over $1k (it had a $1000 reserve!) at an auction here in St. Louis at the 04/04/09 auction and it was missing the lights and speakers on top with some halfway descent speakers tossed on top. One downfall with that one is it takes FFOOOOOOOOORRRREVVERRRRRRRRRR to initially load. I have the actual results at home and will post it if wanted. I actually still had the pic on my phone. According to the link to CL, it is an aftermarket metal pad (Good one is $250), PlayStation and the game, not an arcade unit. Not a good deal.

That was my game. It was missing the marquee, and the speakers were fom a Top Skater I parted out. The reserve I put on it was $350.

As for DDR, it was fun to have for a while, but the Solo Bass machines have a pretty limited song selection (16 I think), and of course, they are missing the fun of head-to-head action. DDR is pretty good exercise, though.

$400 is a decent deal if that is an actual DDR. If it is a Playstation and metal pad, not so much...

I disagree whole heartedly. I have a chipped PS2 that (as of 2 years ago) had every version of DDR on it including the JAP versions. Hooked up to a 50" LCD TV and crank the music up - you have more screen and better audio. Plus you don't have to deal with little kids running around you and bumping into you. And your kid asking for 5 bucks every 5 minutes. Console FTW.

I've got a DDR Solo 2000 that I picked up a few years back at the Dallas Auction; it was one of those deals where I was looking for something to get the family for Christmas and had enough credit from the machines I'd taken and sold there.

Ours has the expanded dance floor with the railing on the back, but yes; it's HUGE and HEAVY. Everyone that comes over loves playing it, but like most games, I still suck at it.

Mine is exactly like this one except there's a fat guy standing in the middle when I play:

I really couldn't remember the prices. I thought that was how much it went for. I knew it was way out of my price range.

Pro: You could watch your gf or wife and or lady friends have fun dancing (all of legal age of course) LOL

On a serious note I have always thought it'd be cool to have one if ya had the space that is.

If I could afford one, I'd buy one. I wouldn't buy a solo machine though. Some versions of ddr are interchangeable, and others need upgraded hardware, and then you can interchange. I think I would go for a 3rd mix-extreme cab so that I could have more interchangeability of the better songs. But, those are the most expensive ones (apart from x) that I know of.

the link you posted says it's $245 not $400 or $500. Wonder which is correct?

Wow, he must have lowered the price!

EDIT: Oh crap, that's not the right link. I screwed that up. Sorry! I have his e-mail though if you want it.
