Any damage their vehicle picking up a machine?

Post of legend... RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE.

I took a friend along on a game haul to get a Vindicators. While loading the game on its back he shoved it right through the back window. And of course he was a perpetual brokeass so I had to repair it on my own dime.

So glad I have a liftgate and a toolbox on my new truck. Ride-along not required lol.

There was the mid blizzard road burners pickup where I lost my key and had to break back into my own van and chip away the steering column...fun times

Uncle Rico's Van occasionally gets a scrape or two, but it helps if you're starting off with a 40 year old van.

Wow, just Wow. I think I threw up a little. :dead1:

All joking aside if it works and jeesh you can even stand up a full size
Nintendo inside and not have to worry about a rain storm; then its exactly what you need for the job.

Going back to the original post, I always carry two thick moving blankets with me. One to lay on the concrete, where I will be tilting the game onto the tailgate of the truck. The other blanket is for stuffing in between the game(s) and the back window/truck bed. Once in place, I put a strap from the front of the truck bed, around the back end of the machine, and back to the other front corner of the truck bed. The trick with tightening this, is to be snug, but not overbearing. You're just trying to secure it, not crank it through the back window :)

This has worked well for me, many times.

Oh and yeah I was not paying attention and came close to pushing an area 51 cabinet through my back window last week. Luckily I saw it resting on the back window and pulled it forward and strapped it down before heading out or strapping it through the window. I'm strap happy too and usually wrench em' down good and tight.

Also last week I was delivering a VERY large cockpit racing game to my buddies house and there was some reflection in the rear view mirror that made me think the game was tipping out of the bed. I swear my heart beat was racing for at least an hour. It had not budged and was just an optical illusion.

I sold an empty Dynamo cab to a guy who showed up with an Escalade to get it. We got it in and as far as it would go. I asked if he was sure it would clear and he assured me it was good. I told him I wasn't confident it would clear the rear window. His words, "It's all good, see..." He slams down the tailgate and blows out his rear window. It was "all good" for me... Not my Caddy.

Standard moving gear

I have used a couple of vehicles to haul an arcade games: Toyota highlander and Volvo XC60. Both can fit any normal type cabinet no problem.

I always bring a 2 wheel cart, 2-4 moving blankets, ratcheting straps, rope, some wood blocks and wood about 2-3 ft long with bungees. I move the front passenger seat all the way towards the front and lay down the rear seats. This way the tall part of the top of the cabinet points towards the passenger side while the cab is laying on 1 side.

This way I can wrap the machine in 2 blankets after I tip it into the back. Put some wood blocks at the ends of the cabinet so if it slides a bit it doesn't hit the window and shatter it on a stoplight etc. (Think of them as spacers) Sometimes I also need to bungee the wood to the cabinet to hold things in place. The ratcheting straps are almost always the best solution.
