Any Computer repair people here? IT guys? Looking for old laptops.

Are you a computer repair store owner that has a pile of old useless laptops in the basement or back room? IT guy with a stack of old laptops in the storage room? I need your help :)

I'm looking for old laptops, to use in creating some more of my Needham's eprom programming kits.

PM me if you can help me out....thanks!

bah, I just gave away a bunch I got from my brother. I'll keep an eye out. I might actually have some kicking around here still.

What are the requirements for speed, ports, completeness?

Ideally? Parallel ports (25 pin) are good. But if it lacks a parallel port and can handle XP or Win7, I'll use it with one of the USB based programmers.

Complete is nice - less hunting for RAM, hard drives, power brick, etc.

I can get replacement power supplies if needed. Hard drives too.

And free. Or dirt cheap :)

How about HP Omnibook 6100's?
I have a few "somewhere" in storage....
(Funny...I just ran across them yesterday. Heavy bastards!)

Alright. I'll dig them out this weekend. Not sure how many I have...3-4 I think. All but 1 (parts) should work? I'll find out and let you know.

I have 3 HP Omnibook 6100 laptops with 1 original CD drive, 1 after market DVD drive, 3 power supplies (only 2 AC cords) - all working. Batteries are of course way past working.

All 3 machines have WinXP w/SP3 installed . They have slightly different hardware options installed. Here are the basics (see photos).

How does $50 + shipping sound for the lot?

i've got an older Macbook Pro (mid-2010 spec) i'm not using, if you can create a pricey, hipster-compatible version of your ROM burning kit
