Need some help with testing a PCB. I put it in my standard jamma cab and the game sounds are good, but the picture is scrambled. Are heir additional wires for the monitor specific to blitz 2000? It will be going into a friend's NBA Jam cab.

Thanks

sounds like the board is set for diff. monitor then what is in your cabinet.
check dip switches and manual for med and standard setting.

I assume your using a seattle board (single board) and not vegas (3 boards). even with the seattle, you should use a cooling fan. vegas uses 3 fans.

dips will switch the monitor rez and dips also change it from 49 way sticks to 8 way.

Yes, the single board - has two dip switch modules - 8 on each box... I can't seem to find the NFL 2000 manual - can only find the gold edition...

DIP switches are the same I believe.

Just make sure your monitors are cga and the DIP is set to cga as it can do both cga/ega (standard/medium res).

I put a blitz on a standard res monitor once and it was all scrambled like you describe. It was set to EGA/med res. Correcting the DIP fixed it.

Does NFL Blitz share the same harness and NBA Jam?

Both are jamma.

If you move to the I-40 board and 49-way joysticks, I'm not sure.

If you are using 8-way joystick, players 1 and 2 are the same. 3/4 are off of .100 headers on the blitz/the Seattle pcb.

But the video testing you want to do is still all off of the jamma side, so you could still do that part ignoring any of the other details above.
