Antique Music Publications Online: Music Trade Review and Presto
The International Arcade Museum has just added, to its web site, over 100,000 pages of PDF magazines from The Music Trade Review as well as Presto Magazine. The issues originally came from the NY Library system but has been in the Music Box Society International collection for many years. Funding for the scanning itself was provided by NAMM.org, the leading music trade association.
We have indexed 40.5 million words from these pages into our search engine. These issues date from the 1890s through 1950s, though it will have very little interest to anyone solely looking for videogame, pinball, em, slots, etc. info.
What it does cover is a full history of the transitional era from mechanical music to phonographs and jukeboxes and RADIO.
There is a decent amount of coin-operated machines referenced in here, though it will almost all be music related, be it radios, Mills Novelty Violanos, or player pianos.
