Another "what should I offer" thread...Pac Plus

http://longisland.craigslist.org/vgm/2464140721.html

Cabinet looks to be in decent shape BUT...the part about being in a "leaky" basement has me concerned. Obviously boards/PS can be replaced but i'd rather not be dealing with water damage. With that in mind, what would be a fair offer on this? Thanks

Try to find out what the leaky basement has induced.

Best bet is to go look and see for yourself. Bring 100-200 bucks and offer based on what you see.

Yep. $50. Actually say $25 and try to settle in at $50. But you can get a real sense of someone by just calling and asking about it. If they think they have gold in their hands then you know to steer clear. But if they just want someone to help get it out of the basement then offer to do all the work yourself and you may get it for dirt cheap.

+1. If you can stand there and point out whatever damage there to their face is while flashing some cash, your argument is that much more persuasive.

Sent an e-mail asking about the extent of the "leaky" basement. Most I would be willing to pay is $100 and that's pushing it. As far as the guy thinking it's gold....probably, it is long island after all. Thanks guys!

might be a bit high but I went with $150 delivered. couldn't get ahold of anyone with a truck for tonight so I had no choice really. plus, it's my first game(aside from an arachnid super6+ dartboard) and I can't wait to get restorin!

well, thanks....I hope. He got "caught up" in the day last night and couldn't deliver. Apparently he'll be delivering it on friday. What gets me worried is the fact that the ad is still up and the possibility of someone offering higher is on my mind. This will be a loooooong week. wish me luck :)

Im a little late but I will say it anyways. I woldnt be concerned about that cab getting wet as long as it didnt happen over and over. Pacs are plywood and hold up pretty well. Worst case is you will have to replace the bottom because its partical board. That cab looks decent from the pics. I would say if you picked it up for $200 or less you got a good deal. $50 would be a steal.

I would have said $100 but $150 is hard to beat being as you didn't have to haul it out of his basement.

pac man plus is one of my favorite variations! enjoy your new game.

wow that was a long week! the machine has been dropped off! it looks ok structurally, but man it's dirty as hell. by the looks of it, the power supply looks shot since it's on the bottom of the cab. be on the lookout for a resto thread tomorrow :D
