Saved another Ninty cab from the despair of 'shed storage' today. This one's actually not in too bad shape.

Back door is locked and I'll need to drill it out, unless someone can coach me on a better way to break in? I DO have access to the coin door, so I guess I could try some acrobatics to get the back door off.

The cab's been JAMMA tized, but the original DK power supply is in there, and I believe it's the original 20EZ. Jailbars pretty bad.

The bottom has a couple of 2x4's toenailed in with leg levelers installed. Kinda nice, actually. I'll clean that up and put some acrylic levelers on there.

The game works, but who the hell wants to play THAT craptastic game?

I'll be using the shell for a DK build this winter.

And of course, POIDH...

I couldn't resist - I drilled the lock. Yes, it's a 20EZ.

I don't know what I was worried about - Road Fighter is a Namco game, and the video works with the 20EZ. The harness has some 'creative' work to it, but the game works great. I was a little surprised to lift the CP and find a 2-way joystick - yep, Road Fighter is really a 2way game.

Cabinet had some serious mouse nest going on, but no carcasses that I could see. Dried rodent pee on the metal PCB shelf, but the PCB is clean, thank goodness.

The bezel is a DK, with the trademark wording. Decent shape.

I have not opened up the marquee area yet. I'm worried about that, since I found a mouse nest in the bottom. We'll see.

This cabinet will make a great base for my DK build this winter.

Ug, you shouldn't have been so quick to drill it out. All N* back doors came from the factory with the infamous Takigen K6510 tubular lock. So either you already own a key that opens it from another N* cab, or I most certainly do (I keep a K6510 on my damn keyring). I would've actually wanted that lock.

I might want that PCB to add to my Konami collection. And BTW, the video output on the board is standard, it's being inverted to Sanyo/N* format by the inverter board on top of the flyback.

I got two more just like it. You want one? :)

Damn, gotta love those freebies! Honestly for the price you can't complain about the condition. I wish I could find some in my area but seems like the only thing that pops up around here they want an arm and leg for it.

No freebies here either. I need all my arms and legs

You need to learn the art of offering the seller a match and some gasoline instead of your open trailer Brad. After you nicely coax the monitor out of course.

How did you get this as a freebie? He wanted $100 for it.

Because I'm good at what I do. :D

Obi Wan, you must understand, one must learn to stand and walk. Yes, oh yes, the monitor will be mine.
