Aquired another Star Wars Upright today
works, but it is missing the small gear that is located in handle assembly frame
(the one that controls up/down movement)

Only place I could find that sells em is RAM controls...

Well, they've returned a couple of people's money and shipped out a few things, but the last couple of folks who said they bought from them caught hell's fury from the rest of the community. The 'new management' apparently has many suspicious ties to the old management so the generally consensus has been that it's a huge risk to order from them (and not just because the community will go crazy) and that they still haven't made completely good like they said they were going to. Last I heard they thought the 'new' people there were just a proxy for the scammers, so I would advise against it... but If you do take the risk and buy from them, for your own safety, tell everyone you didn't ;)

I have an entire Star Wars gear assembly I picked up from RAM for $50 before the big scandal started.

My understanding is that a new guy acquired a lot of RAM Controls' property and attempted to re-establish the company name by using his profits to pay off those who were ripped off.

But a handful of individuals started a campaign to stop this by bad mouthing the new guy and warning everyone else away until all previous debts were paid even though the new guy didn't really have to do this.

I got tired of all the garbage and stopped keeping up with those threads at "Arcade Controls", so I have no idea where things are at this time.

I did note that no one testified to any one being ripped off once the new guy took over.

I have an Atari Roadblasters controller you can have. I know it doesn't use exactly the same yoke, but lots of the parts are interchangeable. Picked it up cheap in a parts lot a while back - I'll let it go cheap. PM me if ya want it.

No, the guy last claiming to 'take over' and all was part of RAM from the get go..same bunch. After getting called out on that, he stopped posting here.

Really? So you are saying that "Dan Johnston" (AKA "dan_ram" on the "Arcade Controls" forum) who took over last year on March 15th was/is a scammer?

Can you direct me to the complaint posts?

I can't tell if you're kidding by asking that. In case you're not-

It's a massive thread that I'm not digging through again, but it's a good read. Pretty good chance that Dan (not his real name even) was the guy who spec'd the parts. They then got a place in Asia to make the parts, and at least in some instances, they never paid for the parts, screwing over the factory that made them. Great bunch of guys.

If you're talking the little gear in the controller I bought a couple a amazon last year for like 2 bucks a piece. All you need is the gear pitch and number of teeth..which I don't remember now but i just looked around on google.

I actually found the info on another arcade forum..somewhere.

I know it's not a lot of help but it sure beats paying 25 bucks for the gear and metal collar. The gear i bought needed to be drilled to match the collar size..but it took like a minute to do

hey Richie that new star wars will make an awesome chair! Make one for me!!!!

With all due respect. You have no idea what the fuck you're talking about and that is all I will say on the subject.

And what's your point? Like I said, I followed the threads over at Arcade Controls, and the signal to noise ratio was terrible. The last post in those threads was in September of last year. (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=112414.520). I saw not a single complaint that "Dan" ripped off anyone since his "take over".

I can't tell if you're kidding by asking that. In case you're not-

Why would I be kidding? I don't put stock in statements of hearsay. And I don't need anyone to dig through anything. I just asked for specific complaints that "Dan" ripped off people. Not people repeating stuff others have said. You said it's a massive thread, but you can't find it?

There are accusations from people who haven't attempted to do business with "Dan" based solely on what they've read from others. Accusations about him ripping others off and I was just asking for a pointer to those specific complaints from the individuals that were actually ripped off.

With all due respect. You have no idea what the fuck you're talking about and that is all I will say on the subject.

Like that statement meant something...

Anyway, here is a pic of the yoke parts I received. (They're on the right). The two smallest gears in the package are 14 tooth and a 28 tooth respectively. Anyone know which particular gear controls up and down movement inside the yoke?

Thanks.

It's a massive thread, I can find it, but I'm not digging through it. You're either very naive or getting a kick out of seeing your name on here. To anyone else who ever reads this forum, it's painfully obvious what went down with ram controls and the parts. You should block out some time to read that thread before even implying that there's anything remotely legitimate about dan_ram. To argue about wanting specific instances is f'n retarded.

Yes, you said a few posts ago that you could find the thread, and at the same time you are ignoring what I said about me not needing anyone to "go digging through it", but you keep repeating that you won't dig through it as if I'm asking. ?!? Why are we going around in circles on this?

Where I come from you back up your statements or don't make them at all. Nevertheless, I haven't called you a liar. But what is telltale is that you refuse to point to this "massive" mystery thread so I can dig through it.

You said you could find your "massive thread", but refuse to tell me where it is. Yet I'm naive or vain? You think it's retarded to seek out those who were ripped off by "Dan" provided they exist? Does that really make sense to you?

You maintain that "it's painfully obvious what went down with ram controls" as if that was the issue here. You tell me "read that thread before even implying that there's anything remotely legitimate about dan_ram". Well, forgetting about whatever secret thread you are referring to, what is truly naive is to think that someone asking where the specific complaints are at is the same as implying legitimacy.

So it seems that you are saying that I'm not allowed to research this for myself and that because I won't bash "Dan" along with the majority of others it's proper to infer that I'm naive or retarded?

It appears you are making up a lot as you go but have still not posted this thread that I reiterate you do not have to go digging through. I read through the "Arcade Controls" thread I linked to and could find no individuals who posted that "Dan" ripped them off. (But if you think I missed it I'll simply check again). Now I know how you can be, so as I struggle to be the one to remain civil we are and will remain at an impasse.

Lastly, I didn't jump on the "F@#$ DAN" Bandwagon, so it is expected that a known troublemaker like FF who is known to attack those who don't follow his lead as if he was personally slighted, to start with his crap.

I'm a "known troublemaker"....

... you have no problem doing business with criminals all the while screwing your fellow arcade enthusiasts who got bent over by these thieves...

I'll take the "troublemaker" label, thank you. At least I am trying to save those not in the know a few bucks... you seem like you're A-OK with helping them give it away. What can I say?

NEWBS OUT THERE - DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GENIUS... INSTEAD, GO HERE AND READ FOR YOURSELF AND MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION:

....and think about it... do you really want to buy from a company that has a forum DEDICATED to their shenanigans?

I was right about RAM before... and I am right about RAM now...
