So Im getting fairly proficent at fixing games now. Ive been having an issue with a u2000 that has no contrast control. Picture looks frickin awesome but its apparent the darks are to light. Im a home theater enthusiast so picture problems bother me Im always adjusting my projector to try and attain a perfect balance of light and dark. Getting a bit off topic here Im just wondering what type adapter do I need to hook up my new http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290375932274&ssPageName=ADME:B:BOC:US:1123 to a u2000. I also am wondering what connector I need to hook it up to a k7600 out of recently aquired voyager as well.

That B&K 466 is an older model rejuvenator that doesn't use the "CR" series of adaptors. You can however mod that one so it works on the CR series. I believe it was with the 467 series that the "CR" adaptors were first used. CR #23 is used for many arcade tubes, but not all. Someone who knows a bit more about rejuvenators can hopefully add more specific info. There might be documentation online on how to mod that 466 to use CR adaptors

Some 466's got modified to use the "CR" series adapters. If the one you have bought has been modified, great! All you need is adapter CR-23 to use on the U2000's tube.

If it hasn't been modified, then you're screwed as it's not likely to have any adapters to work on modern tubes.

You can modifiy the 466 to update it to use the modern "CR" series adapters. Check out page 63 of this document:

I looked at the document so all I would have to do is splice a molex connector on the end using the pinout in the guide? Or could I use a female end to a molex so I would not have to cut the cable? Also what about the k7600 would any adpater work with this?

Two ways of doing it.

You can make a "dongle" adapter to go from the 466's original connector to a male Molex with which you could then use the modern CR adapters without modifying anything on the 466.

Or you can chop off the end of the 466's cable and crimp on the new male Molex pins and insert them into a new male Molex housing. Now the end of the 466's cable will be the same to work with the huge range of B&K's "CR" series adapters. This basiclly turns your 466 into a model 470 (which is very good! ).

The 19K7600 used two different neck diameter tubes in the production run. If yours has the 22.5mm (8 pin) neck it uses CR31 adapter. If it has the 29mm (10 pin) neck it uses CR23 adapter.

Thanks for the info ken. I should have done more research before pulling the trigger, but the fix is easy enough and the unit is said to be in very good condition. No I deas on the large k7600? I want to get it revived and back in star trek b4 christmas.

Like I said if your 7600 has the large neck tube it uses CR23 adapter. If it has small neck tube it use CR31 adapter.

i see the pictures in that ebay ad show one of the adapters of the 466 has been hacked with "grabber" clips.

What are the grabber clips for? Is that bad?
