I found a Donkey Kong Cocktail near but in damn near mint condition and was wondering what these went for? They are asking 400$ bottom dollar, is it worth buying?

I'm certainly no Price Police expert, but that seems like a fair price. Cocktails always tend to keep more value than uprights.

Having said that, I have played the DK cocktail, and it's hard on the wrists at the weird angle they put the controls. You will be very uncomfortable playing it...

Mint condition for $400 is not out of reason. $200 or less is a price for a unit with scratched glass, worn/damaged or missing instruction cards, worn/missing cpo and a burned in monitor. While I agree those are uber hard on the wrists if it's mint as you say it is and you like it certainly get it.

I think those are worth $200 . No one really likes them .
+1, I'd say no more than $200-250, tops. It's a dull looking table, bad control panel.

True 15+ years ago but lately cocktail tables - in general, exceptions like Warlords and Joust aside - have fallen in value much more than uprights. The thinking was that an average person could more easily transport and find a spot for a cocktail table vs. an upright. Being slightly more "portable" made the demand for them somewhat higher.

Let's all forget about breaking this down into individual parts value shall we?
What if this thing is HUO? Still worth $200-$250? After all everyone rants and raves about HUO right?

Bottom line is pricing is completely all too suggestive. If you want it, and it will make you happy and you can afford it .... then buy it. Really that's what matters. If you're thinking about this as an investment then you're sorely mistaken. Very few games hold their value or appreciate. This isn't one of them.

Its not HUO , and they have like 4 of them and I can pick from the best looking one and the guy said one is near mint. I will try and talk him down but he also ha a ms pacman cocktail(wants 500$ for it) i wanna buy and would have thought it would be nice to pick up the dk also

Yes. :) I passed up a HUO DK table for $300, it's better off in the hands of someone who really wants it. If you're saying the value of the parts is greater than the value of whole table, you're probably right. I've seen at least a dozen DK tables pop up in the last 6 months, I think there's a guy on here who even bought one at a thrift. There are lots of them out there is all.

+1, totally agree.

$200 is the KLOV collector price, $400 is what people are getting for them with Joe Public. I was able to sell my DK cocktail for $400 many years back.

Since you want the $500 Ms. Pac, why not see if he would do a bulk deal on the pair, like maybe $750?

i might but i dont know, he also has a space invaders cocktail, im going to try go look at everything thursday, im probably for sure getting the ms pac but im going to try and haggle it down to 400$

I bought one 2 years ago in nice shape for $400. I don't think I got ripped off, although certainly I would have preferred it to be a little cheaper ;) It could use a cap kit, but the body and woodgrain and top are all in good condition. Only thing missing was a coin door lock and part of the coin mech, which I've since replaced. I'm thinking of getting the D2K cocktail art package for it too (since I have D2K installed in it)

Hell I wasn't even aware Rich had cocktail art for D2K. That art package is awesome! It would certainly spruce up what is otherwise a really drab cabinet.

smart move , upright DK's are much better , wait for one of those .

Yes I'm so stoked for tomorrow, I'm going to pick It up but the only bad thing is I'm going to be working in dc for at least four more weeks so it's going to be riding around in the back of my truck but it has a utility topper on it and I'm wrapping pillows around it and ratchet strap it so it doesn't move around, this is a Grail I've been wanting for awhile
