Another patient saved thanks to the doctors at KLOV: my Ms Pac number 2!

This game came home on January 28th, 2010. It needed everything: tube, chassis, board repair, light assy up top, the works.

Thanks to the crew here at KLOV, the patient will live!

This game was a real learning experience for me- I simply cannot get over how much I continue to learn about all of this stuff. I'd done a monitor chassis swap in the past, but never a tube swap. I also needed to replace one of the fuse blocks, which FORCED me to become more proficient with soldering!

I have attached some of the 'before' and 'in progress' shots. I do not have a 'completed' shot yet, will try to get one this week.

What's cool is this is a first-generation machine, with the stencil paint and the 'pinker' marquee. My other one has the decals on it.

I still need to put a better joystick in it, but after all I've been through with it this year, I'm happy to just be able to play it. Last night my daughter and I were playing the 2 machines at the same time, and we were both laughing the whole time as the sounds overlapped.

Thank you all!!!!

That's awesome. After putting in all that work it must be a great feeling to have it fire up and be able to play it. Being able to play it with you daughter would be an excellent bonus. Plus, I bet she'll follow in your footsteps and want to tinker with electronics too (that's what I hope for my daughter, at least).

My daughter loves Ms. Pac. Its her favorite game. She likes to watch me work on the games and has tried to help me fix them. She's only 3, though.

Mine is 5 and is really understanding the logic behind them as she sees me pull parts out and replace them.

I still have more hope for her than my son though. At least she shows some signs of care and tenderness with things. My son's the wrecking crew.

Sounds like you got the board back OK. :)

Play the hell out of it! It's always nice to see where boards I send back end up.

99.9 percent of mspacs had art stenciled on. The machine you have with the vinyl art is the rarer late build machine. If its in good condition hold on to it.
