The beginning of August started with a Tempest cabaret... isn't he cute...
And now at the end of August... things got a little larger...
Both games came from Tim I. and both were great deals in my book. This second Tempest shows it's age on the outside, especially on the right side where it looks like someone tried to use it as a hockey puck on asphalt.
The good points are the A/R II works, he replaced most of the parts on the power brick, the control panel is complete, the wiring harness is non-hacked, and the monitor works.
The bad points are that the PCB doesn't work all the way and the spinner knob isn't original(and the cabinet is pretty rough as seen in the pics).
This PCB is putting up a bit of a stink but the logic works and it passes self-test. The problem is the vectors are completely nuts. Spot killer is not on but the vectors just look like random shooting starts with most of the activity on the outer fringe. In self-test there is just a rectangular box around the edges of the monitor with *nothing* in the middle. Pretty strange.
But that's for another thread in the tech. section for later in the week.
Thanks again Tim!!!
