This will probably be the last one for a while, as you will see space is totally maxed out. I still live at home with my parents, but hopefully I will either get a promotion (15-20k raise) or get a new job in the next year (20-30k raise potentially) or so, then I will be able to make the leap into a long term house, rather than a starter home.

Anyway, picked this up this morning off of CL. The machine is in decent to good shape, definitely not a collector's machine, nor was it represented as one. Plays very well, and is a machine I've wanted for years and years. I'm happy with the purchase for sure.

Got a question for everyone. The ramps are smoked on this thing. Would suggest new ramps then Cliffy's protectors or just do Cliffy's and wait until the ramps totally blow out, if they do, and then buy new ramps? Just curious of anyone's thoughts on that. Also, I assume magic eraser is the best thing for ball swirls and dirt?

magic eraser is great.

i might buy the ramps and set them on the shelf till someday. how bad are they. and can you give us a picture?

im near kansas city and my friend was talking to someone about an EARTHSHAKER near st louis and i was wondering if its the same one. and may i ask how much you paid just out of total curiosity?

oh and nice score!

Ramps are pretty bad. I'll take a pic here in a second. Then again I've never had a pin where the ramps were broken, so maybe not that bad. I paid $1,200, and that's probably too much honestly, but I've wanted an Earthshaker for a long time, and it was local, and I happened to have the money saved up specifically for an Earthshaker, so yeah, pretty much why not buy it? Let me go take pics. Also, that $1,200 includes Xmas and Birthday money, so total money I actually paid out of my pocket was closer to $700-800.

There ya go. They don't affect gameplay too bad. I actually only noticed them b/c a plastic cracked when the ball came off the fault ramp into the center ramp. Other than that, I hadn't noticed them in the couple hours I worked on/played the machine today.

I forgot to add the game has some weird trough switch errors that I can't figure out. Sometimes the game plays totally fine and I notice nothing, then other times the ball will drain and another ball is kicked out and the game continues or the ball will be kicked out before the bonus is calculated. I think it is related to the shelter kick out hole because sometimes the ball will get stuck in there. Any help related to that would be greatly appreciated. No errors are shown upon start up, so I'm kind of confused, but then again I'm not the most tech savvy guy on these things.

Ouch!

I have had ramps come clean and perfectly clear after cleaning them. Now the holes can be covered with protectors or mylar until you can get replacements.

Fun game

Mike

could be the switch contacts need a cleaning. they sell a gold contacts burnishing tool from bob roberts. or you can try taking a business card and slipping it in there with a tiny bit of pressure on the cantacts and moving the business card back and forth a little to try and get dirt/solenoid dust off of there. thanks for the photos. love that game. looks in nice condition and the price isnt bad either. the game my friend was looking at was the same or 1300. could it be the same game? my friend fell asleep on it i think cause of the distance.

just make sure your balls are new so they dont pound up your playfield. dirty/rusty balls can do damage quickly.

eh, id just buy new ramps. make sure the plug has three prongs on it.

did you use novus or do you have another secret...I can't get mine that clean with novus

What is the attract mode like? I mean the light show? I see these pictures of the earthshaker and not just yours but almost all pic's dont seem that it's got alot of lights, inserts or flashers. I like the theme alot. A Whirlwind would look good next to it. $1200 nice find. Flame polish is accomplished by what? I know a flame but what kind of flame?
