Saw the thread for a 2701 and it motivated me to try to fix mine.

I have one on the shelf that I can't adjustthe horizontal width on. The screen needs to be widened probably 5 inches on each side. I tried swapping remote control boards, no dice. Pulled the chassis andfound some cold solder, especially bad on one of the caps (I could actually pull it out). Reflowed everything, still no change. Haven't capped it yet, but do you think the cap kit would fix it?

Another thing... This tube and yoke was from a known working neotec nt2700. I don't think that is an issue, but i'll mention it anyway.

Thanks!
Mike

Have you tried adjusting your horizontal width coil? It sounds like that could be the issue or it might need replaced all together.

You're right Ken. This thing's been on the shelf for like 4 years now. I just ordered the kit from Bob Roberts.

might not hurt to try and verify it has the correct yoke.

does the width adjustment have ANY affect at all?? as in can you make it smaller at least?

NeoTec NT2701 Horizontal Width not adjusting

On the newer NT-2701 chassis (full family version they call it I guess) the problem with not being able to adjust the width or pincushion is caused by C550 which is 10uf 50v non-polar. This is on the main board next to Q501's heatsink in the center.
