I picked up an original Ms Pacman off of Craigslist. Owner said that it wouldn't play because the monitor was making a buzzing sound and thought it might have been shorting out. I went over and looked it over and it had some bad water damage on the bottom. Someone had tried to do a "repair" by nailing a 2x4 across to bottom because there were only holes left where the legs used to be. They had also tried to bondo the sides over rotten wood. I offered the guy about half of his asking price and he agreed.

After rebuilding the monitor with a full cap kit and new flyback I was able to play the game. The monitor looked great with no burn.

The power supply had been replaced with with a switching power supply. The PCB had been hacked and wires soldered directly from the switching power supply to the PCB. They hacked the wiring harness to remove the power leads. This would need to be replaced. Thanks to Todd Tuckey over at TNT I was able to get a new unhacked harness.

My idea was to restore it with no hacks. I wanted to leave the fixed original boards in the machine and install a 60 in 1 with a jamma harness but put connectors on the jamma harness that would allow you to swap it back to Ms Pacman PCB quickly. No control panels were harmed during the construction of this project. :)

Here are some some pics of the rebuild:

T-molding installed. The back door was completely trashed so I had to make a new one. New hardware installed along with any parts that I could salvage.

The trackball I ordered has a pink LED light below that lights it up. Hard to see in the pictures but it turned out really nice as well.

I may upgrade to a ARpiCADE. Anyone have any experience with those? Pros/Cons?

Thank you for posting, that Ms looks terrific. I love seeing the restoration talent and the woodworking here.

Good job on the restore. You had me until the stickers. *sadface*

Ha! Yeah, I thought some would not like the decals but since I knew this game was not going to be routed I just wanted to keep it a simple restore. Maybe my next one I will attempt a stencil job.
