Got another 27" K7500. Testing this in a SF: Rush. I am getting a triple image. Naturally, one would think that the game is in standard res mode BUT my other k7500 displays a picture just fine. K7500 are med res only right?

I don't know if this helps.......I recently had a Neotec NT-2501 (medium resolution) kick my butt...it was displaying a quad image. This thing had a ton of new parts in it, including a new flyback. After more time than I'd care to admit.....I noticed the flyback was for a NT-2502 (which is high resolution). I swapped in a Neotec medium resolution flyback......Fixed!

Are you sure it's a 7500 and not a 7400?

Does adjusting the horizontal hold do anything?

hmm. Not at home right now. Do the k7400 and k7500 look similar?

Would they share the same tube? Reason I ask is that the k7500(or possibly k7400 i guess) in question had a neck board with about 4 or 5 components completely smoked. I pulled the neck board off of a working k7500 chassis to test.

Will be home in a little bit and take another look.

im pretty sure the k7400,7500, hell evne u5000 all looks simular.

so get some pics of the chassis, any numbers, stickers, etc..

also, does rush do standard res with a dip switch change? If so flip it! If it not works, you know this is a standard res monitor, most likely a 7400.

if rush is dedicated med res, do you have a std res game you could use to test with?

Very much alike.
I always look for the "P" number designation on the main chassis. (sometimes just a white label)

K7400- P763
K7500- P793
U5000- P738 (also typically has a movable plug for std or med resolution)

Don't forget the U2000, also.

I think all four models use the P719 neckboard, but with some small deviations. Usually you'll find a letter designator, like P719h or P719i, to differentiate between the two.

I know for a fact that one model uses Q501 on the neckboard while another model does not. If you remove it from a chassis that needs it, then the picture will not sync...

it is indeed a k7400. I pulled this out of a Ridge Racer V and figured it was med. res. Didnt bother to even read the label. Looked like a k7500 so thats what I thought. I was wrong.
