Hey all. Been reading the forums for a few weeks now, figured I'd say hi. I've been toying with the idea of buying a few games or building a MAME machine for a couple of years now, but after me and my girlfriend went down to the Pinball Hall of Fame here in Vegas several weeks ago and played some old classics, I knew it was time to start. So, I started looking on the web for arcade sites/forums and found you all. Great site here! Tons of helpful people and information....certainly a great way to spead my work day!
And since I know you guys all like stories and pics...here's mine. Picked up my first game last week...a Ms. Pac-Man for $120. When I went to look at the game, it would turn on but there was just a bunch of scrambled characters on the screen. Brought her home, did a once over and found a wire that had been smashed by the coin door closing on it and was shorting to the door. Fixed that, powered it on...and working Ms. Pac-Man! It has a humbar, but otherwise looks and plays fine. Hopefully I'll have time this week to get in there and rip the filter board out and replace the fuses/fuse holders...then some clean up the inside and out some.
Well enough babbling, here's some pics. I think the flash made the colors look more faded than they actually are.
