A little over a year ago I visited a bowling alley in Mount Vernon WA, about a 1/2 hour from where I live, to see if they had any games. They had several, mostly newer driving and shooting games, a couple pinball machines and a Super Sprint. It wasn't plugged in at all so I asked the manager who owned the games. I left my contact info and never heard back.

I stopped by a couple months later and same thing, Super Sprint not plugged in and left my contact info. Since then I aquired a Sprint 2 and a Sprint 1.

Today I was up in the area again and decided to swing by the bowling alley to check again. To my suprise and luck the couple who owned the machines was there. I asked about the Sprint and they said it didn't work. I asked if they wanted to sell it, they said yes and gave me a price. We plugged it in and I could see the monitor worked, but that's it. I counter offered and now I have my 3rd Sprint game.

Now I just need to get it working......... -Barry

Freaking awesome dude!

I think that game and Champ Sprint are the two greatest "overhead view" drivers ever made. There is one being sold locally in PDX for $350 right now, but I can't bring myself to buy it, because I know the clown, and he bought it for way less and is just flipping it without any work for profit.

Well this makes me happy....... I found it had a dead power supply so I replaced it and it works so far. I have to fix the control panel harness as there are some issues with the crap plugs atari put on it for the steering pcb. So far so good. - Barry

We ALWAYS would play Super Sprint BITD. I'd love to have one if I had the room. Unfortunately, only Championship Sprint will fit in my game room :(

Great pick up!!

That's badass! I know Super Sprint didn't make the 50 list on my book, but I'd personally take it any day over Super Off-Road.

As long as the rest works it should be at the NW Pinball and Gameroom show. I may get to work on the CP tomorrow and I'll order up a capkit. - Barry

Cool behemoth of a game, for sure!

I have enough parts left over from the 720 harness run to make you a cp harness section and or at least put new connectors on it.

Nice pickup.

Must be hard to play with the steering on the floor like that ;)

Looks like a nice game. I always found this to be a fun machine to play.

Oh, and thank you for taking a game for the show for others to enjoy as well!

Yeah you have to use your hand for the pedal and it makes it hard to see. Actually it was a pain to get it home. I have a Chevy Colorado with a canopy and to get it to fit I had to remove the CP and it barely made it in.

When I paid for the machine I asked if they had a hand truck I could use and all the bowling alley had was this tiny wimpy one. I had to run home and get mine since the only way out with it was down the stairs. The entrance with a ramp had too narrow of doorways and the game wouldn't fit through.

Great score Barry! I've gone bowling and looked over those games as recently as within the last two months. I hope that South Park pin dies someday and just sits there for a year ;)

Nice find. I played a lot of it also BITD.

So Sprint 4 and 8 are hard to find does that mean Badlands is the next one your going to get?

I think I have enough Sprint generations now. I really had no idea I'd be getting a game yesterday. Just luck I guess. - Barry

So I've been working on this one. I got another power supply installed and it powers up. I temporarily installed the cp for testing. All wheels operated fine. The start buttons mostly work (found soda on them inside so I have to clean them). Sound is good and the pedals sort of work. The 2 outer cars haul like they should but the center car is slow......

I thought it may be the pot until I removed the pedal assemblys. Where the pedal meets the pin to drive the pot is extremely worn out and won't allow full throttle. The outer 2 have minor wear but I guess that's normal for a 25 year old game.

I cleaned it and tore apart the cp for rebuild and bought the steel to fix the pedals.

More pics soon. - Barry
