Another fan of pawn stars?

I think it was the first season, could be wrong. I just saw that episode for the first time a week or so ago during their marathon prior to Monday's season opener.

I think it was season one. There is a thread on here somewhere about it.A lot of people were ripping Cory for overpaying for it if I remember correctly.

Me and the wife watched this one. Its what convinced her to let me fill the finished basement with games. Thanks pawn stars!

What was worse: Cory overpaying for that machine, or the restorer, "Rick," who said it would cost about $2000-$3000 to restore the machine? That guy has cracked me up in other episodes with his "restoration" prices. Talk about expensive!

I bet a lot of prices they say on the show are incorrect and just made up. They can say it cost that much when they maybe only paid $500 to restore it. Its just a crafty business practice to make more money. All they have to do is say " didnt you see the show....you know we paid $2000 to restore this."

Both are equally hilarious! That restorer dude had to know he was ripping Cory off.

Well, since the show is a big hit I would guess that they will intentionally pay big bucks for oddities and "cool" items to keep the show interesting... thus keeping more of that stuff coming in.

But if those big ticket items arent going back out then they will not make it as a business. Thats why I think some of those prices are made up so they can make more money. As viewers we know what they paid so do you really think they will get their asking price. Id be shocked if we are getting the whole story on those prices.
