Another EDOT restore thread

I ordered the kit from Bob yesterday. I want to see what all has to be done. If it looks to much I will definitely ship it out to you. I would like to give it a go but we will see.

I removed one complete side or art (front/back half) to send over to Rich so he can repro it for fellow Edot owners. I managed to get it all off without any severe damage so it should be a great template for him to go off of. I'm going to prep and repair one side this weekend and make some fiberglass caps to fit the bottom to prevent cracking from moving. I noticed some of mine has some flaking from being moved around and this should ease that as well as protect it. I will get pictures of those up later on as I complete them.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ahhh you blew my cover as the Batman! It does look good naked though. Very nice body. It's got some catching up to do in order to be as nice your EDOT.

On another note. I am going to be in need of a 20412 power supply. After getting mine on the bench I believe I discovered what the problem was. I found some grids to actually be melted out and no contact being made. I still spent the time to install the Bob R kit just for the heck of it. Going to go out and give it a shot.

It comes off in two seperate sections. Kinda like yours did but with the enviro part seperate. I didn't get to work on it as much as I had wanted this weekend because of the football game party I had to attend....I really would have much rather been working on it though.

Your sacrifice is greatly appreciated!

+1
I cant tell you you many times people ask for art thats not available but do very little to help make it happen. sometimes not even providing measurements. : (
then you have those who relize you cant make an omlet without breaking some eggs.

I got the art in yesterday and will start taking a closer look at it soon
to see what its going to take to produce this.
stay tooned...

The sideart wasn't perfect and laying this thing on its side would have been a task. That and coming across someone who has the ability to scan it for me in this area is another story. It had some spots under the art that had gouges taken out of the wood and a hole on the opposite side. Either way it was coming off to be replaced. The way I got it off, I could easily restick it to it. It did come off in the two complete sections.

Got to do a little work over the weekend and straighten out some blemishes from etchings into the wood. Also got the power supply in today from 7146aaron. Got it put in soon as dinner was done. Flipped the switch and I heard the sounds I was waiting to hear. Although I think there is a few bugs in the sound board. work on that later. I also need to figure out why I can't get credits. I think its due in part to some broken wires.

Got around to doing a little soldering work on some of the wires this weekend. My end result...

A playable EDOT!

I decided to remove the inner glass and give it a good going over as well. Wanted to attempt to clean up the monitor. It made a night and day difference.

Painted the cardboard inserts black also. When I started putting it all back together I looked down in the base of the cabinet below the monitor. I ended up finding a perfect shape coin mechanism laying wedged between the center wood insert.

I will get some pictures up later when the camera battery charges back up again. The vid was shot with a droid so quality isn't super good.

I did see it. I am watching both the original glass piece, the repro rear art, and the repro disc. The rear art would make for some nice arcadescaping. Got a few days to go though on that stuff.

I think the nos glass will get outta my range and I'm not about to spend half what I paid for the Edot to begin with.

Thanks for pointing the mat out though. I will be finishing up the wood work this week hopefully.
