I'm working on restoring a number of games, including this DkJr.

It's in the best condition out of all my games.

Since this machine is really in pretty good cosmetic shape, I've decided to hold off on any cabinet restoration, and just get it cleaned up for now. I want to have all my games down in my basement before a Christmas party I'm hosting.

First thing: the horrible black T-molding must go. And, oh joy, it's held on with nails.

Here's what I've been dealing with.

This evening, I installed brand new Nintendo-style T-molding.

Even if the slots had been tight to begin with, after all of those nails, there were a number of places where the plywood is slightly split (just enough to no longer grip the new molding).

In those spots, instead of using nails :)rolleyes:) I folded some paper over the the molding before inserting it into the slot.

And, voilà, we have fancy new molding:

I need to find my goo-gone to clean up some sticker residue, and it will be nearly good to go.

I also need to start carrying a real camera out to the garage. I just noticed how blurry that last picture is.

nothing like new t-molding on a cab to make it "pop" again

Yeah, I couldn't believe the difference it made on my much more beat-up blue cabinet. With the new molding, it looks almost respectable.
