yes nice job.

can i ask you where you got your underlay?i got a midway space invaders deluxe cocktail here in uk,still on usa power also (using transformer) i had to remove the glass art (realy was not happy to do so) as it was super crackled and literaly falling off.so now i got glass,no art so i need a reliable source for underlay.

i know they are not going to be the same as original glass art but,are they nice on the eyes when you look at the top of the cocktail?or do you realy notice anything ie:how it fits,or if it might have a crease?

ms pac cocktail very rare here in uk.
:(

That looks great! I restored one of these myself. Looking for touch ups is tough because the dark pictures and wood grain but I'll take a guess that the cabinet was drilled out for a lock bar and you used the colored wood putty! I did that and it's next to impossible to detect.

If I may suggest one thing though. Rebuild those joysticks. Buy the grommets, and ESPECIALLY buy new leafs for it. http://www.moneymachines.com/pacmanparts.html
CALL them and ensure they have them in stock. They have a guy that builds these and if they are out of stock it could take a few months before a new order is received.

yes nice job.:(

Thanks guys!

I got my underlay off ebay. This seller "summit_2 ( Feedback Score Of 311)".

He says there NOS. I wanted the orignal Bally but could not find one. I first bought one from a member here that was not the Bally, but the Namco one, Ill get his name and add it to this post. Possibly he has or can get a Space Invaders.

Later on I found this NOS on ebay, but paid twice as much for it. Oh well, now I have both underlays.

My original was like you SI. It was torn, warpped and stuck to the glass, looked really bad and yes you will see the waves once under the glass if it is wavy.

Vic here in this post is where I got the first underlay.

Luckily my machine never had a lock bar! I did use colored putty and three different paints to do the touch ups to get them to blend. Sanded in the direction of the grain too. I was really surprised at the results! I wanted to keep it original, I know some don't care for the woodgrain, but I also did not want to paint a black border along the bottom like som do so cover damage.

Ill take the joystick rebuild in consideration. I've ordered from that place before too. I did clean all my leafs when I had it apart and the grommets looked perfect, at this time at least! : )

i seem to have you misundertanding me,space invaders deluxe has art actualy stuck to the glass,it dont use an underlay.that had basicly gone and cracked and rippled and was falling off the glass,i had to strip it off with nitromorse.

i might be misunderstanding you also.ms pacman uses a underlay originaly or it has the art actualy on the glass?

i have never seen a ms pacman cocktail with my own eys so i dont know if its glass art or underlay.

what i am up for is the underlay for space invaders cocktail, dosnt have to be deluxe (but, preferred) the original art of the space invaders cocktail (deluxe) is actual stuck onto the glass.

this is why you cant buy nos of this art (unless you can get the stickon glass art or however it was applied to the glass) that was used in the factory.
:)

Oh sorry my bad, yes Ms Pac is an underlay originally, so do Pac cocktail machines.

Nice job. That cab looks great. I'd love to add one of those to my lineup someday.

Thanks! Kids really like CT's too I've found. I think their great if you don't have a lot of space, which with three pins, I don't have a lot of extra.

I cringe when sellers say "NOS".
There's plenty of write ups on this but just in case you missed it, the CPO's on cocktail and uprights are easy to tell if they are true NOS or if the seller is claiming NNOS (I call this NEW NOS) overlays because they obtained the rights to reproduce the artwork (Like twobits.com did). The repro's have Ms Pac as a chunky chick. Google for pics and you'll see exactly what I mean. It killed me to find out I had NNOS .... grumble grumble.

BTW-- I coined the phrase "NNOS". Explicit use must be authorized from me. :D

Looks great! :) Wasn't this the one from Mt Pleasant that was on CL a while back?

Yes, yes it is! Do you know the guy, or did you see it for sale? I did not pay the listing price...

Yes I have my doubts too, one being the guy sells them over and over. Plus, the backing does not look like my original. I'll have to check the images out like you said.

And yeah, you have the rights to NNOS!

I saw it for sale and posted the listing initially. It didn't sell the first time so I bumped the thread the second time I saw it listed to see if anyone got it and I thought I remember you replying and saying you got it. It seemed like a good deal even at their original asking price. :)

Can you tell me a source for that cord with the low profile plug? I've been looking for one.
