Another arcade closes and goes up for auction..Indianapolis Jillian's

After a long run (1998?) in Downtown Indianapolis, it looks like the Jillian's location here is bankrupt. Their assets are going up for auction next Wednesday at 10am. I really wish I could go, there was some cool stuff there I'd like to bring home as memorabilia.. if anyone is planning on going, please PM me? Thanks!

Wow, that place was big! It really sucks to see that stuff close down, I'm sure it'll be a long lasting memory for some kids though and they'll become the next generation of game collectors.

That firefighting game is a fun one....but HUGE! Does anyone know the name of that Safari game that you drive around and lasso animals? It looks like they have one of those in the pictures. I didn't see any classic games in the pictures.

The game you speak of is jambo safari by sega. It was put out on the Wii at somepoint also

I'm surprised they didn't try to keep it going until the Super Bowl. That's a prime Downtown location and a cool building. Hopefully something nice will go in before January.

i wouldn't expect much out of the auction. the jillian's they had here in denver shut down and was auctioned in '07 or '08. the only 'classic' was a pac/galaga and it went for almost two grand, iirc. everything else went for a shitload of cash there.

ugh what a nightmare its going to be parking a truck and trailer in the heart of indy :( oh well no pain no gain. if you are there just look for the guy who keeps peeking out the window to see if his truck has been towed..that will be me :) lol

Best. Fiancee. Ever.

I didn't get to go but I really, really wanted a particular sign out of there. Little did I know someone would go on my behalf and bid on it for me. Voila! A new sign for my new (to be built this winter) Barcade!

what a complete waste of time. 1 word for this auction- fools

Thank God it was on my way to work. I would be pissed if I drove very far for that. Amazing what some of that shit sold for. 950 for a 05 golden tee.750 for a south park parts machine. I believe the fast and furious was over 4000. I left at that point. Just my 2 cents of course

yea it was pretty sad how misinformed/careless with money most of the buyers were... I left after the pins, figured I could at least make it home for dinner.

I'm pretty sure the one around here in Houston, TX is still up and running. Not so much of classics, but they have the big Daytona Deluxe setup with the 8x 50" rear projection televisions and motion seats (although i'm certain that part wasn't running last time). Shit goes for $54,000 and I believe CoinOpExpress had a few....
