Ok, I have a problem, I have dual nintendo vs cab with both 19 inch sanyo monitors in it. The one screen is fine the other screen the top is cut off, not all the way but cut off, and doesnt fill the screen. You can see the game, play the game but the top is cut off. I followed the flow chart and it says to change TR402,TR403, is this correct? I am not sure, or should I try something else first?Adjustments?
If it is those TR403/403, where can I get them in a hurry, radio shack or something close to it?
Any help would be great

>> I flip the test switch on the borad and it gave me a line only across the screen, I flip it back and it gives me the game back with the same problem as mentioned above.

Thanks John

cap kit is not going to cut the screen off is it? whats happeneing is a vertical collapse?

Thanks, didnt plan on keeping this game, so I wanted to get the screen back to its normal size

You can actually replace the vertical foldover cap(s) without removing the monitor from the cabinet... it's a little tight, but they're right at the back. I was thinking it was C407 and C410 that caused it, but that's going from memory, and I haven't worked on one in a couple years.

But yeah, I'm guilty of just replacing those two caps on a couple occasions because I hate pulling the monitor and chassis out of those, and I could make the monitor 95% good by just doing those two without much effort. If you're not planning on keeping it, I suspect that'd be a preferred option.

If you're not planning on keeping it, I suspect that'd probably piss off the person you sell it to when he experiences problems shortly down the road.

Fixed that for you.

could I try replacing that one C407?

I just yesterday fixed the foldover on my same monitor... and was tempted to just replace that one cap,

but I didn't... do the whole cap kit and you will feel better about it...

chances are caps will start failing one by one as they may all be the same age ,

yeah.. just do the whole cap kit, you'll feel better about it, even if selling it...

plus its a selling point...
