Centipede is my #3 favorite arcade game of all time, so when one popped up for sale in my vicinity, I had to go check it out.
It was listed as working, but with a dead screen. Based on the "artfully" composed photos in the ad, I assumed the machine was not in great shape.
I was not wrong.
Still, an afternoon's drive and a few bucks later, I had my next project loaded into the van.
At the time I thought I over paid for it given the condition of the cabinet, but what with that recent widely publicized auction jacking up prices sky high, looks like I may have gotten this for a steal.

I love this game. When new, the cabinet was just absolutely gorgeous and featured some of the most iconic artwork of the day. The massive centipede graphic on the side was quite striking.
This specimen is obviously less than new.

The previous owner said he bought it on auction a long while ago and it had worked for years up until the monitor died. He said he never had keys to the cabinet and had not opened it up as he wouldn't know how to fix it.
