Hey sorry to make another thread but I wanted this to get noticed. I heard a hissing noise in my cab, took the back door off and in the anode cap *that thing with the wire attached* it has a hole in it. I can see something barely coming out, looks like like a mini flame?? like its blue/red. Is that bad? and can it be fixed? do i need to buy another one? can I put a piece of electrical tape on it? its the size of a pinhole.

I dont have any here though, can I put a piece of electrical tape over it? like I said its like a pinhole. idk whats coming out of it though. would that be a temp fix

With the monitor power cord unplugged and the picture tube discharged, swab off the rubber suction cup with 99% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. That'll clean the cup real well.

Now smear the area of the suction cup with either clear or black silicone glue and build up about a 1/8" thick glob. Let dry/cure for 24 hours. This is a permanent fix for the pinhole and it should no longer leak high voltage.

Electrical tape is not a good idea in this application since you are dealing with 20,000 volts.
