Sorry if someone posted this already, but I thought this was funny. Preach it brother!:

http://sacramento.craigslist.org/for/1622712599.html

In case the listing goes down:

I am writing this to help in the sale of arcade machines by the general public.

If you have an old arcade machine that is non-working..... It has a value of $50-$100, no more.
It is not a fuse, and is never an easy fix.

If your game has cabinet damage, or water damage, it has very little value.

I too have looked at the idiots on ebay listing their ms pac man for $1500.
Do not mistake this as an indicator of value. This game will NEVER sell at this price.

Dozens of people such as myself, scour craigslist daily, and sometimes hourly.
If your game is truly a "good deal" it will be sold within hours and typically minutes.

If you have ever had to list a game for a 2nd or 3rd time, your price is WAY off.

Hope this helps.

Agree. If it is an "easy fix", I'll give you an extra $20 for it in "fixed" condition. That should more than cover any "easy fix, fuse, etc".

Someone on CL in St. Louis posted something similiar.I guess KLOVers are finally getting tired of the bs of CL and telling sellers how it is.

Some people are scumbags. Its such a shit thing to do as its total crap... There are hundreds of games that not working are worth way more than $100.

Its probably some getto poor dork who likes to rip people off. Cons people to sell them a game for $50 and then brags about it here and flips it next week for $500.

The reality is, it USUALLY is a very easy fix. I was just given a game(Guy said take it away, its broken). opend the back door and I can see the neutral wire is broken out of the molex going to the transformer.

Just beacuse a game is water damaged, does not mean its worthless. I sold my water damaged cosmic chasm as parts for $2000. Hell, I would buy any color xy for more than $100 with an oatmeal cabinet..

Makes me want to post a free apprasial service up there. Just to mess with the cheap bastards plans..

Taking perfectly good cabs for 200$ and turning into 1500$ 60-in-1 frankensteins should be considered Heresy and be punished by guillotine

Who ever wrote this...

well said...I read this the first day it came on...couldn't have said it better myself...it gets old seeing the same games reposted week after week...for insane prices..

While I agree with the intent, it sometimes is an EASY fix. Had a guy today show up with a Centipede that "hasn't worked for a year". Turned out his test switch was on. Shut it off and it worked fine...

I had an operator call me to fix his ms pac on location. Get there and its in test mode. He hit the switch taking the cash bucket out.. Also had to fix a coin jam.. His solution was to drive a screw into the coin slot to keep people frome putting more money into it.

different operator called me to fix his cocktail multi game. Went there and flipped the switch that controls the plugs on that wall.

If operators are that stupid, as long as the public does not try to fix a game themself, its usually a simple fix..
