And, That's, Billy Mitchell.

That looks like Tim Balderamos who walked up in front of him. Now that guy is a real Pac-man wiz.

I've watched live streams of him playing. Simply amazing!

As for Billy's trip..... what a way to recover! Mad props to him. I've known people that could get flustered at that.

i watched billy mitchell play pacman for almost an hour and he could stay on the same board just f@$!ing with the ghosts all day if he wanted to. everything that he did had purpose. lots of people dont care for him but Billy Mitchell is classic gaming.
thanks

My only thing about Billy is that I *want* to watch him play, yet he will never do a livestream, or release a video for the general public to watch. Frankly, I don't think he will be giving up his "secrets" if he does, and he could even just play around, and I'd find it interesting.

Other "high level" players(Masters, if you will), have already figured this stuff out. The likelihood of him "losing his notoriety" if someone else learns from him is pretty much nil minus infinity. He has been "The Man" for decades, now... and even if someone matches or beats his scores, he won't lose face.

the grouping strategies have the players doing almost the same thing.
they have little mini-patterns they link together using the upper T.
and depending on how many times you let the ghosts loop, they start getting pixel by pixel closer. you have to get the ghosts in a certain order of color and specific amount of pixels apart so you can eat them all in a flash.

Jon Stoodley's perfect pacman game post on Twin Galaxies and YT, I think, is probably the best representation of the technique. It is also used by folks like Don Hayes. http://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/146550

My friend Greg L is within a few points of a perfect pacman using that school of concepts. I fell asleep sitting in a chair watching him at a cocktail machine once, it is painful to endure if you aren't the one thinking it out.

There are a very select few like Aart V. who can control the ghosts at will while running in many parts of the mazes. The same techniques that the Ms. Pac players employ.

It was likely Tom Asaki (the nibbler guy) and his friends who did the most for the understanding of ghost grouping dynamics. Google the Bozeman Think-Tank. Tom came to Ottumwa and showed us all, but Billy was the only one who was good enough to understand.

Definitely not a serious example of his game play but there is a decent bit of him messing around. audio quality is poor but there is a lot of cool info in this video. enjoy.
