I recently bought a Tron UR with a bad PCB in it. I didn't know what the issue was with it so I decided to try it out in my cocktail machine to make sure it was a board problem. The board worked! Well sort of. It worked once. The next time I turned the game on it went into a reset mode:

Grid pattern, couple of colors, grid pattern, repeat.

This is not my video but it is the exact symptoms my board is having:

The person who posted this video ended up finding out that his slam switch was stuck. That's not the case with me. I put my old Tron board back into the cocktail and it's working perfectly again.

So I know the problem is on the PCB. I was wondering if someone could tell me which parts might be the culprit causing a reset like this? Could it be some bad 2K RAM? Could it be a CPU issue? Or is there a cap that's not getting enough power?

Ideas are welcome!

I had a Tron PCB doing the same awhile back, I believe the culprit was the Z-80 on the CPU PCB. (The middle board on the stack)

Thanks for the additional tip!

That's good to know. I'm hoping to have some time tonight. I was at work until 11:30pm last night (normal 9-5 guy) so I didn't have a chance to try any of these suggestions out!

Love working on my games--wish I had more time to do it!
