I was out with some colleagues from work the other day and I ran into this... I didn't stick around to play any games ... just snapped a few shots for anyone who is interested.

It was very clean ... pretty typical... nothing jumped out at me except maybe the one vertical shooter it was really neat looking with the HD display up on its side like that.

I have been to a bunch of arcades in Hong Kong but never Shenzhen. Where in Shenzhen was that? I go there every year.

That Air Force 1 game looks pretty kick ass!

I'm not exactly sure... its about a 15 minute walk east ( I believe ) from Coco park... I'll dig out the name of the place... its a huge 4 story mall... 2 stories above the street and 2 below...

Yeah, I'd like to check out the Tanks game. If anyone knows of a video, please share it.

Cool pics. I was in Beijing with my father about 3 years ago and was very disappointed by the complete absence of anything video game related anywhere in the city. I think it's because piracy is so rampant that none of the major video game developers will release their products there, along with the fact that the government regulates them so strictly that they are essentially outlawed in many parts of the country.

I was there in 08 after the olympics and I can tell you that there was one arcade near the Forbidden city by the shopping district. they had new and old games.

I've also been to Wenzhou and Guandon ( spell check) and there was a few arcades. Most of them were located on the top floor of malls. It was nice to see that they have an appetite for arcades.

In Hongkong, that's where I saw SFIV. only thing that sucked is the smoking like BITD. But back then, I was so short that the smoke didn't bother me. Now it's a different story.

Tank Tank Tank is a very fun game. There's one in the Fuddruckers in Concord near me. My kids love it too. It has a camera that takes your pic at the beginning and you can put on different helmets and hats and whatever. You can see each other driving around. Play as a team or against each other. It appears that many of them could be hooked together for a group game.

The seat moves when you fire and really shakes you around but there's a button you can press to turn that feature off if it drives you crazy. But for the real experience you gotta leave it on. Graphics are good. Big sideways monitors give great perspective. You can run down a lot of buildings and structures but those you can run down you can shoot down. The monsters are pretty creative. There's a lot of humor too. At one point one of the sea monsters grabbed my sons tank off the ground and started waving him all around and his guy started making all the hilarious comments.

Good game.

china

my buisness is building high precision plastic injection molds. most of my tooling and molds are built in the USA, however sometimes with large packages and time constraints we use offshore companies. all of my production is in the USA. This time I am here with my girlfriend visiting, she is from shenzhen. Lots of eye candy here, Hong Kong is a little easier to get around than here. If you all have not been to china and want a adventure than go for it, this place is a trip. Cheap place to travel to, lots of shopping and stuff to see. Shenzhen/Hong Kong is every large US city rolled into one place, huge and sky scrapers go as far as you can see on the horizon.
