Just finished up an Amplifone rebuild and after the current one I am on is done I will be caught up. If anyone else needs one done let me know and you can be next in line. I could probably get one more done before the Holidays.

It's not cheap but the rebuild is pretty extensive. I have now done about 15 sets of these for klovers in case you need references. The price is $225 per board ( HV or Deflection) or $400 for both. If your board is missing an extensive amount of parts or in worse than normal condition, the price might have to be adjusted. If you have a new working flyback all ready, I might adjust the price down for that too.

This is NOT a cap and slap. I spend on average about 10 hours on these. Many parts are replaced and upgraded. Some but not all of what I do:

1. New caps
2. Hard wire 1 ohm jumpers
3. Replace XY adjustment pots
4. Remove and reinstall harnesses.
5. New HV flyback
6. New voltage regulators ( HV and Deflection board)
7. New pots on HV board.
8. 50ohm resistors moved to heat sink ( keeps them from cooking the HV pcb)
9. Some diodes are replaced and upgraded.
10. Some resistors are replaced and upgraded.

Some feedback ( Really appreciate it !)

What I won't do :
1.Hold on to your board for months without communication.
2. Only troubleshoot and fix a specific problem for less money ( these monitors have too many trouble spots that need to be addressed )
3. Give you a list of every part and where I get it and explain in great detail what I do so you can just do it yourself. I know that may sound rude, but it would take me quite a while to list it all and explain it all. I would rather spend that time rebuilding yours so I could charge you :)

Happy Holidays.

Sounds awesome, do you work on WG6100's as well?

I'd love to see someone do this for G08s too.

I can tell you he completely rebuilt my 6100 three years ago and it has been rock solid ever since. Before Dave fixed mine, it was hacked and screwed up beyond belief. Totally dead.

I highly recommended his services. I only wish I had an amplifone for him to fix for me.

Don't mean any offense now, because I love what you do, but I'm going to go ahead and ask the question that is on everyone's mind :

How specifically does your service differ from the $140 service Chad offers? (Which includes both boards and new fly.)

Other than turnaround time, there appears to be a great disparity in the bottom lines.

There's a ton of labor involved with rebuilding an amp properly. That accounts for a good chunk of it.

Not knocking Chad at all but I have had 2 sets of Amps come to me that he repaired first.
In all fairness to him, there is only so much you can afford to do at his price and in the case of him and myself, you guys get what you pay for. He can only do so much at his price and that still leaves some trouble spots on the boards that are prone to failure.

Some of the things I do automatically that I dont thing he includes are :

1. Totally remove the harnesses.
2. Replace every voltage regulator on heat sinks.
3. Hard wire the jumpers.
4. Replace the XY pots on the deflection board
5. Replace the pots on the HV board
6. Move the 50 ohm resistors to the heat sink on the HV board.
7. Upgrade the MPSU07 and 57's to the HD package.

That's just a few things but that right there is a fair amount of work.

Specifically? The difference is profit.

You have absolutely zero idea of what you are talking about. If Chad's first $140 covers a cap kit and flyback, then what I do for the additional $260 is a bargain.
Until you see my Amplifone and his Amplifone rebuild side by side, then you have no business undermining my business.

Get some facts before you come in my thread and derail it.

Edit: You are correct on one thing. The difference IS profit but it's Chad that is making more profit for what he is doing than what I make when I tack on the extras for another $260.
A cap kit = 1.5 hours at the most plus parts.
What I do= 5 hours for EACH board plus parts.
Tell me who is making the profit...

Let's not shit on others' threads. I'm sure that both guys do good work and you pay more, you get some more. I plan on trying to do this all myself and there's not telling how much time I'll sink in it. Is it worth that to 'save' the money? I doubt it, my time seems to be pretty valuable too, so it would be smarter for me to just send the stuff off to one of these guys!

I can personally vouch for ArcRevival's work. He did an excellent job on mine and the 19" Amplifone in my Star Wars is working well. I'd use him again without hesitation (I plan to have him rebuild my backup Amp boards in the near future). When something is outside of my skill-set (monitors are my weakness), I tend to spread that around to the folks that are the experts.

I purchased a rebuilt HV board from ArcRevival awhile back and I can say his work is a thing of beauty. Top notch work my friend!

ArcRevival's Amplifone rebuilds are top notch. If you are just looking for a 'quick fix', look elsewhere. If you want your Amplifone setup truly rebuilt, upgraded, and bulletproofed, send him your boards. I have seen his work first hand and can tell you two things: You won't be disappointed, and it is well worth the money.

Excellent, detailed, and logical response. I'd say you've done a great job at marketing your services, without demeaning the competition. Bravo!

My intent isn't to demean the competition but when Smalltownguy comes in here and basically
says that for the extra $260 you get nothing, then I will have something to say about that.

I do think it's unfortunate that someone who has NEVER used my service feels the need to take cheap shots at what I do. He has since then edited his post.

Yep, it WAS a cheap shot. I apologize. I have not used your services. It was a poor choice of words, and I have since edited my original post.
