I am getting ready to rebuild an Amplifone HV board, and was wondering if I should use the Wintron I bought a few years back, or one of the newer ones.
I see that Bob Roberts has an Amplifone flyback listed..anyone know about these?

Does anyone want to buy the Wintron, are these more respected than the Arcadeshop flybacks?
Thanks,
Dan

I'll supply the butter and salt ;)

But seriously... if you have a new Wintron... save your money and use it. I'm not sure there is any real data out there that proves any flyback is better than any other... (except the original "Dead Red" of course).

You already have a good replacement, install the Wintron.

If you want a drop in install though go with the Amplifone flyback that Arcadeshop sells.

Not meaning to add salt or fire to this discussion...

The original WinTRONs have been around long enough that their "quality" is known. However, the most recent batch of WinTRONs is only a few years old now, correct? If so, their expected life may or may not be any different than the other replacements. Please keep in mind this is being said by someone that has not purchased ANY of the replacement flybacks or has any opinion or vested interest in any of the flybacks, other than purchasing an original WinTRON almost 9 years ago (that still works great, BTW).

Time will be the true test.
