Amplifone - graphics look great but bright dot in middle. :(

Yes, I saw that. Cool stuff. This is only a 19" monitor though. Isn't that the hard one to find a tube for? I guess it could be cool to try to cram a big 25" monitor in an upright cab and see what it looks like. :)

One day I will look into 19"

At the time I posted the link, I didn't know it was 19" :)

Thank you to EVERYONE who helped or attempted to help me get this amplifone going. It is now up and running and I played my first game of Star Wars on it this morning (level 14, 3.1 million) and it looks good. I need to do some minor adjustment on brightness levels of the colors and such but otherwise it's very nice.

Several people mentioned possible issues with the spot-killer circuit and that was apparently what the problem was. I replaced Q10, Q11, Q26 and the 4.3 volt zener diode this morning (somewhat arbitrarily) and fired it up!

Thanks again, I'm going to go give reputation to everyone I can again who helped! You deserve it way more than I do! :)

Glad you got it working!

Glad you got it up and running and I know your glad it wasn't the tube. You fixed it by not giving up. It's the greatest feeling in the world when you play that first game after the fix. :D
