Hi,
Have a rowe CP100A. When I pug the jukebox in I hear the Amp turn on.
When I hit the on off switch all the other stuff turns on. Is the Amp always
on when the plug is in even with the switch off?

Thank you,
Joe

This is common with Rowe jukes for the past 30 years.

Unplug the amplifier from the "amplifier" power outlet on the power supply. Now plug it into the "service" outlet.

The service outlet is controlled by the power switch on the back of the jukebox. The amplifier outlet is live all the time the juke is plugged into the wall outlet regardless of whether the juke power switch is on or off. Why Rowe did this is puzzling. If I'm working on the juke in a dark tavern, I don't want my work light to turn off when I switch the jukebox power switch off (using the "service" outlet). I want that work light I plugged in to stay on so I can see what the hell I'm doing.

I think they did this to enable the use the juke's amp for a paging system or something. If you plug a mic into the amp, it'll work even if the machine is turned off. I like Ken's advice, switch the plugs. It saves electricity too because you'll notice the amp's transformer and heat sink are warm anytime the machine is plugged into the wall.

We operated many Rowe jukes with the optional PA system. We always told the locations, "If you want to do paging, turn the jukebox on. It will not work if the juke is off". We ran all of our Rowe jukes with the amplifier plugged into the service outlet. It gives the amplifier a rest when the juke is turned off at night.
