I have a AMI W80 wallbox all original. I have added a Wallbox Hub / MP3 Hard drive to act as the jukebox and build the recommended power supply.

All currently worked like a champ as of last night.

Here is my question.

I am looking for suggestions on mounting all of this neatly hanging on a wall in my kitchen.

I was thinking of building a "floating" shelf/box where the box shelf would house the power supply, harddrive, wallbox hub with wires running through a hole in the top of the box behind the AMI wallbox and a hole in the bottom to run the power cords through.

Anybody have similar ideas or examples?

I've got wallboxes located in different rooms that are all wired to my stereo in the family room. The MP3 "gear" is in a cabinet underneath the stereo. The MP3 stuff power is also connected to the stereo so that when I turn it on with my remote all the wallboxes light up. All my wire is buried in the wall so you have a nice "clean" looking wallbox.

Not to digress but did you know that an AMI wallbox is on the cover of a Foreigner album?

Speaker Setup?

Any ideas out there for speakers. Again, I have the AMI W80 hooked to a Walbox Hub to a MP3 Hard drive to play the music. That has RCA Stereo connections on it. Hooked to my stereo is fine but hooked directly to speakers, you cant here it. The volume is very very low.

Do I needed power stereo speakers?

The next thing is I want to find small speakers to mount with the wallbox locally. Any ideas on a type to get?

You need some type of an amp with RCA audio in jacks. Some of the Ipod docks have those...a remote for the volume might be nice too. If you want to go cheap and have somewhere to stash the amp you could get an old stereo amp at a garage sale, run the audio out to it and then run speaker wires back to the wallbox, you might be able to do this with your current stereo if you have a "speaker B" setting and then use an unused audio in port (I think I use the VCR in for mine) and then run the secondary speakers back to the wallbox.

I think some antique speaker boxes might look cool next to it. Some small square speakers underneath the wallbox might look nice too.

The "type" of speakers you get is dependent on what type of an amplifier you are using, they need to be matched to work properly.

Speaker

If you can see the above link, it is the speaker I bought. It is a Vintage Gold Metal Wall Misco Speaker. Came with a mono cable directly wired to it. I put a new mono 1/8" audio to direct wire on it and then hooked it up as follows:

Wallbox RCA Male Output, to Dual RCA Female/Mono Female, to Mono/Stereo switchable inline Volume Contol, Mono Male to Direct Wire on the speaker.

Sounds great but the volume is very very low. Would you suggest maybe a RCA Audio Amp before converting it back to mono for the speaker.

Do you have any links to other suggestions or speaker types. I really would like the older vintage/metal type of speaker.
