Fixed American laser games on semi normal tv

SO im having problems, the gun will not shoot the sides, and it shoots erractically. Im trying to place this on a regular monitor. Its a Nec multi-sync monitor but it doesnt have a white board like the arcade models.
It does the same thing with different guns and if I plug them into the mainboard computer or the toas board. Ive tried calibrating, ive tried lighting darkening the screns and biases.

yeah, I don't think I've ever read anything about any of those games on here before, lol.

best thing I can come up with is the method in which the light gun works just might not work on a computer monitor. might have something to do with the frequencies/refresh rates.

am I correct in understanding you probably have all the hardware mounted on a wooden board or in a pedestal cabinet and you're just running the RGB/sync wires direct to a computer monitor? do you know if the guns worked fine prior to the "monitor swap"? cause the symptom you mention could also fall in line with the +5V on the arcade power supply being a little low. I don't know what's a good voltage to set at, cause I've never heard of anybody on KLOV messing with these.

I always run about 5.10-5.20 to be safe, depending on how many boards are involved. this one's just like one control board and a laser disc player (which probably runs off its own 110VAC) so I think 5.10-5.15 should be safe.

which games you got for it? I loved The Last Bounty Hunter. :)

It doesnt use and adjustable arcade power supply, It has a transformer, and an old Amiga/Commadore power supply.
The monitors a multi sync, one it takes damn near any frequency/signal known to man and can adjust all kinds of things.

So far I have
Mad Dog Mcree 1&2
Crime Patroll 1&2
Last Bounty Hunter
Quick Draw

I tried in out a another tv I have, its a rear projector and it works awesome on it .
Now I gotta gotta figure out how to replace/fix that belt, so I can get the crime patrol II out and play some other games.
Btw Dave at the Yahoo American Laser games page is a really cool and helpfull guy.

yeah, they came in deluxe models with projection TVs, we had a Mad Dog II like that back in '94. cost a fortune, we wound up letting it go cause it wasn't drawing enough money. then we got The Last Bounty Hunter. it too didn't fare too well. I played more of that one.

but anyway, I kinda figured a PC monitor would be the problem. I seem to recall them not being the greatest for light gun games.

what belt are you referring to? like the one for the drawer on the laserdisc player?

Yeah ive got it, the laserdisc player wouldnt eject the disc. I had a mixed bag of rubberbands and used one as a belt. Now the player ejects. Who knows how long itll last though.
