AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service.

Please support us... It doesn't cost you anything! If you have a different favorite charity, you can pick that instead.

We receive quarterly notices from Amazon about this program. We have been displaying a notice about this once per forum visit since late Summer. early. After then end of 2014Q2, Amazon contributed $10 to the library (which included a sign up bonus). On November 12, they contributed $31.73 to the Library for activity from July 1 to September 30, 2014. At a 0.5% payout, that means forum members spent $6,346 on Amazon and used our link during time. I'm asking for everyone's help... please make this a stellar Q4.

Thank you for your support,

Greg

Last quarter (3Q14), the AmazonSmile contribution was $31.73. Today we received an email informing us that the 4Q14 contribution was $39.95. Every little bit it helpful, but it is definitely not earth shattering.

Q&A and Comments:

* Does Amazon Smile support count towards donations at the Library and thus forum recognition.

In short, no. We don't have a way to track it. It is appreciated but doesn't go to fruit symbols or donor counts. Also, I think it does technically count as Amazon's contribution. Amazon will regularly send you an email. Note that Amazon emails show how much -ALL- supporters helped raise for the charity, not just your profile. Not too long ago someone self-reported that they were responsible for $300 or $400 in donations to the Library through Amazon. That seemed high. Upon investigation, it turned out to be $1.50 or $2. Remember, in order for the library to get $400 in donations from your purchases, you would have to purchase $80k from smile.amazon.com over time.

Such email looks like:

* Can you tell how much I helped?

Amazon doesn't tell us. When you log into smile.amazon.com though, it will report your stats directly to you however.

When on smile.amazon.com, under the logo at the top left of the page, it says 'Supporting: International...'. If you click on that, it will show you a full stats page.

In my case, as of 5/24/22, I'm personally about 17.4% of the Amazon Smile purchases here.

Your total orders: 552 [Amazon smile orders]
You have generated: $461.07
Your current charity International Arcade Museum Library has received: $2,643.27
All US charities have received: $334,286,080.29
All worldwide charities have received: $377,951,346.00

* What else do you know?

When the Library logs into the Amazon organization portal, it shows very little additional information:

Total Customers Supporting Your Charity as of 5/23/2022: 209

Purchases in the last 7 days: 10
Purchases in Apr 2022: 114

I can download a last 90 days report, but it simply shows the date and the number of purchases each day (not amount of each individual purchase or any identifying info). In Excel, I averaged them and it comes out to 3.7 purchases a day.
