Amazing Commodor Vic20

I'm a closet C-64 hoarder...

I have (all working...)
5 CPU's,
3 x 1701 monitors
6 x 1541 disk drives
2 x Datasets
3 x Dot Matrix printers
Epyx fastload cartridge,
80 column display cartridge
300/1200 baud modem
a dozen wico sticks,
and about 1500 disks with just about every c64 game ever made

I even wrote a Lunar Lander program ENTIRELY in 6502 assembler language
using Jim Butterfield's SuperMon-64 editor.
(... and it was pretty damn cool ...even today ! )

I could "poke" and "peek" like nobody's business back on 1982
.... when I was 16 yrs old !

Ahhhh, good times !

;-)

ohhh ghostbusters i had that too that game was a definite keeper.

Well, I still have a Vic-20 (Not the original one I had), I do have the original C64 from when I as a kid (Plus a couple hundred floppies)! And I have an Atari ST again (regret selling it, but at the time I needed the money).

I've been looking for a reliable way of getting the C64 disks onto my PC. I was able to save some of my original source code from back in the day, but I don't know where my cable is anymore. Need something that works with Copy Protected discs.

CBMXfer Works Great....

ZoomFloppy replaces all X*-1541 cables with a simple USB-based hardware device guaranteed to work with today's machines using today's multitasking operating systems. Simply plug into any free USB port, connect your CBM drive via a serial cable, and transfer data to or from your software collection.

... When I was in school my first computer was the PET, which no one is mentioning! ...

This.

Because I was allowed to play with the PET, I somehow was motivated to / talked my parents into buying me a VIC-20... :)

Does anyone remember the Windham Classics stuff? - Alice in Wonderland, Below the Root, (action adventures) Treasure Island, Wizard of Oz, etc.. (text based/graphic adventures)

Alice in Wonderland and Below the Root were incredible for the time and very deep, which meant the drive was constantly running. I bought a new-in-box, shrinkwrapped Alice in Wonderland on Ebay years ago. Below the Root sells for a ton, when it pops up.

No, I sure don't.... The Vic 20's haven't seen any daylight in years either...

The Amiga 1000 and 2000 were given to me recently...

The first computer I used was the TRS-80 and then the Apple ][ at school...
