I like to turn the games on, have a beer and just walk around. I do this like maybe once a week and actually dont play them, maybe a few every now and them but I like just looking, watching the demos which I have seen many times and hearing the sounds. My wife feels this is weird and I tell her I enjoy it, as a person with fine artwork enjoys just looking... thoughts?

Funny you said this. I have a beer in hand and was just downstairs admiring my "mess". :p

I love being alone in the gameroom. Sometimes it's too chaotic to just quietly walk around and enjoy it.

At Warlords house i do this. He has around 21 games in his basement and i love walking around walking and watching the demos... the digdug demo player is a badass, or at least best demo player out that lol.

I do this sometimes as well.. lol. Right now my games are in the garage... and if I am working out there... I will turn them on.. just for the heck of it. There is something very nostalgic and comforting about just seeing the old games on and lit up... takes me back to my childhood. Did the same thing when they were in my basement.

So I don't think you are that weird... you just appreciate the games you have and it probably just brings you back to your childhood.. reminds of walking around an arcade looking at the games and trying to decide what to play.

I do, and im thankful I can takeup this hobby honestly, we were always those kids checking/pushing the coin returns cuz we had none to play with. very well put..I will be using this next time im asked :)

This is completely normal for all people who collect games. There are times where I have them turned on for atmosphere and never play a game. I think it looks awesome with them on in the dark.

I love the light these things put off in a dimly lit room. For awhile, I only had my Jr Pac Mappy style marquee in my office. Quite often in the evening I'd turn it on but not play it, when I was using my office, just because I like the light it gave off.

I do this more than I play them.

Ambience and memories.

i do sometimes. sometimes i'll turn 'em all on and only play a few, or leave them on to look at the awesome attract modes and black lighty goodness.

Yep, I've done this many times. Not weird at all - of course, if you were to ask this anywhere besides KLOV, you'd probably get a different answer, lol.

I do this alllll the time. Sometimes with them turned on...sometimes with them turned off. I'm always afraid to turn them all on for fear that one isn't working :)

I do something similar but its a little different, since I have a garage full of projects that are not working and torn apart in some sort of disrepair, I'll have a beer out there look at everything and just think about all the work I still need to do, then the feeling fades, and I come back inside and look for more beer.
