I just watched a movie called High Score. The lead in the movie was trying to beat the long lasting Missile Command record of 80+ million. That got me thinking about Robotron. As a kid me and a few others would "tag team" these games around Redwood City and San Carlos in Northern California. We would play for hours on end some times close to 20 hours. The arcades would either close or we would just leave the game with tons of extra guys.

The record on Robotron is 348+ million. Doing the math... Every 10 million is about 2.5 hours. Thats over 80 hours of game play to get that record, right? The longest I've ever stayed awake was around 50 hours. That was brutal and I was working my ass off that entire time.

My brain is fried from a long ass day in the Oklahoma heat so I figured I'd ask you guys to verify my math for me! :)

That's been a big discussion over at TG...the other part of the discussion is the score itself is impossible, as it has an 80 as the last 2 digits (which could just be a typo). There's no way to score anything other than a multiple of 25 in Robotron.

I didnt even see the 80 in the score. Thats got to be a typo.

3 days and 15 hours is a long time to be playing a game.
