Am I being a dick, Ebay question, opinions wanted

He does have a couple other things up for auction...

Tempting for sure, but that kind of eye-for-an-eye stuff only ends in small claims court.

Black Matrix, I just wanted to pass along my condolences; I very nearly talked myself into jumping into the bidding on that sign, and I know how bummed out you must be. One bit of advice I'd offer above and beyond leaving negative feedback is to report the seller for "seller non-performance". If my bookmarks haven't failed me, the link to do that is: http://tinyurl.com/SellerNonPerformance

I think there's a minimum 10-day cooldown before you're allowed to report non-performance, so don't cooperate if he demands that you close out the auction in any way. Having been on the wrong end of this once after a seller demanded that I ship my "US-only" auction to Australia -- at no extra charge to him! -- I can tell you first hand that eBay really does look into these reports, and there's a good chance they'll put the seller's feet to the fire for you. Good luck!

This reminds me of of the guys who's " son" told me it caught on fire after acution ended

to some people, the world is a bit overwhelming.

when people dont act right, it makes those who do follow rules, frustrated.
and rightly so.
but

my advice is to teach your son what happened and why and forget it.
oh, im not saying dont contact EBAY. you have to ket them know they have someone not following the rules that EVERYONE else has to follow.
but what i am saying is forget it

let it

go

He's resorting to name calling? WTF. File a complaint on him with ebay. You might have to swap negative feedback..... and you'll never get the sign, but it's not worth more money than somebody is willing to pay for it. He's going to keep thinking the rules are whatever he can get away with...... until THEY tell him otherwise.

The thing that gets me is his indignation. Tool?
Bullshit is one word and 'jerkoff' is 'jerk off' ... anybody knows that. Tool indeed. LOL.

Good luck dude.... we all run into bad apples from time to time.

I hate that

That's a violation of ebay's policies. Report it and his account should be closed. There goes his 11-year-old account and +672 feedback.

Give up on getting the sign, however.

I would report it and forward the emails (especially any that were Ebay emails). I had someone do this to me once, although he said the item was "defective" when he tested it before shipping. I didn't respond to him a second time, so he thought he was clear. Two days later he reposted the same item with a higher starting bid. The pictures made it very clear it was the same item. I reported that auction to Ebay. Three hours later the auction was closed and his account was closed.

Karma is a bitch.

"Corday" has one post - this post, and he has a "tinyurl" URL in it???????

Beware of that link.

Just sayin.' Fishy as hell.

Oh, and, please give the seller eBay hell.

I would say report seller to ebay. and give up on getting the sign. If you do get it after all the bs is it going to work. you would win and lose. just my .02

Response from the seller when I asked if the item was still available:

We did not go through with the transaction as my son was not happy with the amount the auction ended at. we may be relisting it with a reserve.

I looked through his feedback and anytime someone has a problem with something he leans on his feedback and immediately blames the buyer for something. He's like most sellers where everything he lists is in great or better condition. He comes off like a douchebag.

I say fuck this asshole send him a piece of dog shit in the mail. That neon sign should be on it's way to your house right now - I hope to god you can leave him some shitty feedback. I usually don't get worked up on message boards but I'm getting legitimately pissed about this.

Well, I'll chime in.

Really, you need to decide something. Like the poster above said, you might want to let it go. So what you need to decide is, how full and enriched is your life?

If you've got a great life going, you're married; have children; coach softball; have date night every Tuesday at your favorite little italian Bistro like they used to do on the Sopranos... if you have a pool to clean and a corvette to drive, if your life is just wonderful and full, then I'd let it go. You dont' need to worry about the small shit... hell you're not even out any money! Just let it go man, and get on with living your life... if you have one.

If you're like most of us that post on here though, miserably unsatisfied, HATE HIS ASS!!!! PM me and we'll plot revenge together.

Anyone else heard of this seller nonperformance. And whats the best way to report this guy. Call ebay directly and speak to their service line. Or start online proceedings.

So it looks legit...

Did a quick search on ebay.

Here's some information about: What to do when a seller doesn't want to complete the sale
Placing a bid on an item is like entering into a contract with the seller - both parties are committed to the sale.

If the seller refuses to complete the sale, you can report the seller to us.

Also, if you have not already done so, we recommend at this point that you open an Item Not Received case. This will open communication between you and the seller that may help you work things out.

Here's the link it gave me when to report seller:

yeah- you can't win-

He is likely to sabotage the item if you try to force it out of him.

Better yet- he says OK- you never get it, then he says it must have gotten lost in the mail- here's your money back.

Just chalk it up. He sucks and you tried to let us know.
