I think I'm addicted to getting new console games at a discount. Keep in mind I have an almost 4 month old at home, so my time it limited as it is.

So far since 9/18, I've bought:
Borderlands 2 (almost 100% done with), got a $20 BB reward certificate with.
Second copy of Borderlands 2 for a friend's b-day that is still months away (gave it to him already), only reason I bought it was because I got it for $40 shipped brand new.
Assassins Creed 3 PS3, (opened last night, played 1 hour), got a $20 BB reward certificate with.
Assassins Creed 3 Vita, (still in plastic) for free because of BOGO coupon.
Medal of Honor Warfighter (still in plastic), got a $20 BB reward certificate with, plus I got them to price match $49.99.
Call of Duty: Declassified (Vita title), (shipping today), $12 off from newegg.
Lego LOTR (ships today/tomorrow, the wife and I enjoy playing these together), $12 off from newegg.

And tomorrow I plan on picking up:
COD:BO2, would get another $20 in BB rewards.
God of War: Saga (GOW 1-3, plus both PSP titles, all 5 remastered in HD with trophies!), would get BB to price match GameStop for $20, normally $40.
Formula 1 Race Stars (think F1 meets Mario Kart), might put off and wait for a price drop or buy used.

Games I have preordered between tomorrow and the end of the year:
Resident Evil 6 (probably going to cancel, wasn't impressed with the demo), originally preordered for $20 in BB rewards (expired now).
Playstation All Stars (buying PS3 version, comes with free Vita version), $12 off from newegg.

So all totaled, at the end of the day tomorrow I will probably have 7 brand new games that I haven't played (and this is counting the GOW Saga as 1 game vs. the 5 it actually is). Should I seek help, or do you think am I justified in doing this? FYI, I've been bouncing around the 40% off mark for my total purchases, which I'm kinda proud of.

edit: in addition, I check cheapassgamer.com at least twice a day, gamedealsdaily.com once (only updated in the AM), and I have a daily game deals app on my phone that I check morning and night

I am a sucker for preorder exclusives, but only for certain franchises: Ass Creed, CoD (not anymore, though), Zelda, and anything Telltale games might offer.

Others are case by case, and only really if the deal is good enough. I'm starting to level myself out on this crap, but cant resist when it comes to AC for some reason :p

Discounted games are always a good thing as long as you got the cash, as far as I'm concerned. There's a reason I don't visit CAG much anymore - I find too many deals I can't pass on :p

You're doing better than me. Just for AC3, I got two different special editions...the PS3 copy of the game was sold, so I got a good chunk of my money back on that one, getting the remaining items for much less than they would have cost individually.

But still, really? I'm a sucker for this shit :p

I bought the special edition of Resistance 2, ACII, and GT5, and was highly disappointed by all three. I haven't bought any special editions since. I was tempted by the ultimate edition (or whatever it is call) for Borderlands 2, just because of the loot chest.

Yeah, they are generally disappointing overall. All of the CoD ones were disappointing to me so I gave up on those. I have the AC1, AC2, and AC:B ones as well. I was so happy when AC:R didn't have one...at least not here. I'd say the AC3 Ubi Workshop edition is the best deal for the money, for anyone into the AC story at all. The Encyclopedia is $50 on its own, and the Subject 4 graphic novels would be another $40 if purchases separately. I enjoy the AC story and all that, so I feel it was a good deal. The other one with the statue and that shit...eh, it looks good on a shelf next to the others I have from AC2 and AC:B, so whatever.

Like I said, I'm a sucker. But I'm glad I can limit it to pretty much just AC and Zelda these days :p

Oh, I forgot about the COD ones. I got the MW2 with nightvision goggles, and the BO with that stupid dog tag. Also the Force Unleashed 2 with a Star Killer USB drive, which is the least disappointing special edition I have bought.

I am very upset that I didn't get a Pre-order steel case from BB when I pre-ordered. The idiot at the counter never mentioned it to me when I pre-ordered, and by the time I realized I should've gotten one it was launch day, and they were obviously out.

Well I made it through my pre-order season of chaos. My last pre-order for a while showed up yesterday (PS All-Stars). The next one I have is God of War in March, so hopefully I have time to catch up on my gaming and finances.

Total spent should have been $500 even (pre-tax), but I ended up saving $196. That's a 39.2% savings. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.
