always needing stand offs for pcb's? heres an endless amount of free ones

i was always looking for stand offs and running out of them, and i thought, its just a stand off, i would think lots of things would work, i have used rubber washers,, and other misc, and with the cost of the 60-1 at 42.00 now, the set of 4 stand offs can cost over 10% of the pcb price, that seems to high

then i looked at my water bottle cap and thought wow endless free stand offs!, just drill a hole in the center and your good to go.

empty water bottles have other uses too, like cut em in half and can be used as disposable funnel for oil changes, and the gallon ones can be used to cart used oil, and are good disposable cleaning tubs when cut in half as well

I use a plastic hose. Get one alittle bit bigger in diameter than the screw and your good to go. And you can cut it to the length of the screw. It works well for me if I need one in a pinch.

I have a couple bags full of old crappy pinball plastic posts. You need longer screws but they work great...
