alternating power supply-monitor question

simple question

if i rip everything out of a cabinet and use a jamma harness and an aternating power supply. do the old monitors still need the transitor..umm dam my mind isnt working not a transitor but a ...

anyways you get my point.... going to wire me up a new ms pac just forgot if i need to keep parts in for the monitor or if the alternating power supply can take care of everything for me

Yes, if you remove the linear power supply and install a switching power supply you still need to reuse the transformer to power the original monitor. If you're replacing the monitor with an LCD or computer monitor you will not need the old transformer.

And for future reference, the one powering the monitor is called an isolation transformer :)
