So I cleaned up some edge connectors and now am only a few beeps away from my Cliff Hanger functioning again. According to the tech docs the beep I'm hanging on is the bookkeeping RAM beep.
The game stopped working after I took the battery off the board. I was going to just replace the battery and mount one off the board but from research it seems like it doesn't require a battery to complete this self-test so I'm wondering if I should just buy a 4016-TMS RAM chip from Bob Roberts and install that instead?
Crazykong.com lists that chip that's giving me trouble as Bookkeeping ram (E6) = TMS4016. I'm obviously new here and never replaced a chip before, if I order this item from Bob, (4016-20 TMS Replace 2016/2128/4802/6116/8128/9128/Etc), and replace the old chip, does that seem like a reasonable fix for getting past the last beep rather than mounting a new battery?
Everything worked like a champ previous to me pulling the battery so I'm not positive why it would now fail at the bookkeeping self-test.
