Well, heck, lots of Sega Super GT's being bought up (at least by a few of us), so I thought I'd start a general topic thread for discussions about any aspect of the machine....
I always feel bad jacking someone else's machine thread talking about my own machine.

I'll start it with a repair of a seat adjuster on one of mine.
Sometimes my odd tools come in real handy!!

Someone was ANGRY when they did this... pretty tough assembly to mess up...
I didn't realize it was so bad till I took the seat off.

I have a homemade 30 ton shop press which didn't even strain to straighten the shaft...

Shaft is now almost straight... had to do a few presses to get it perfectly straight.

Repaired shaft is ready!

Reassembled adjuster on the seat.
A pin was sheered on the metal tab on the end... $0.40 or so at Lowes.
The metal tab itself had fallen into the machine, glad it wasn't cleaned out!
Had to do a bit of hammering on the seat base to get it straightened too....

Does anyone know how to turn on the car damage option?
I have seen pics posted by Austin, but we have been unable to get mine to display damage.

Also, DIP switches on the CPU board, anyone know what they do?

I hate to ask a dumb question, but are you sure your damage isn't turned on? You really have to drive bad to notice it, and even then you can only see it after the race (if you use either of the "inside" views)

Nope, no damage no matter how bad I drive. I use the external view also.

Most of the damage is to the front. The only damage I have seen from the back is on the wing of the F40. Like above, it's easiest to notice on the pan around camera shot after the race is over.

Which dip switches are you wanting to see?

Man it's been 6 months and I still have three dead Super GT's in the game room.
I finally decided to sort out the U5000 chassis issues and I got 2 solved and working.
Planning to cap them and then install this week, hopefully they keep going.
Both had neck board issues... I came up with a creative fix for the "loose transistor", maybe
more trouble than it's worth, but installed rivets in the board to keep the transistor stable.
Will post some pictures later!

At least you are finally working on it. No if only you find a set of SCUD Racer Plus ROMs floating around...
