im coming to a crossroads in my arcade/pin room. i am now having to deal with the dreaded SPACE issue!! here is my collection- vids = outrun, neo geo 4 slot, karate champ, mk2, asteroids
pins= stargate, flash gordon, galaxy
now what to due. i love the idea of both but here is reality. i can keep what i have and be cramped as f@$!. or i can go 3-4 pins!!!. swap out as i like. have the classy looking hi end cant be duplicated in mame game room and have decent space for people to sit on the back wall to watch. or i could say f pins and go 7 arcades that get played right now at least more then the pins. have less value but include my baby mk2 and one of my grails karate champ. and have ok room with 2 stools in between the games to chill not feeling cramped!. gosh darn space. or i could knock out the back side of the house, get rid of the driveway and the kids back yard and extend myself into more debt adding a very important addition dedicated to the joy and lively hood which is my selfishness? all comments and advice are welcome in a topic which many have struggled before me.
thanks in advance and may space be with you

Go for a mix of the 2, not solely one or the other. Look to maximize your vids any way you can (like adding a 161n1 in your Neo Geo).

You will always be fighting space, we all do.

Pins and Vids complement each other.
There's no excuse or reasoning to have just one or the other.
Collect the games which have "meaning" to you.

I'd go with an addition so you can have both. The kids can play in the street like we did as kids.

OP, your line-up and situation is similar to mine. My room is pretty much maxed to capacity. I would say definitely keep a pin/vid ratio. I don't think I could ever go all pins (too costly) or all vids (I would miss the variety). Keep what you like and rotate out a game if you get tired of it, but definitely keep the balance of having both.

I definitely think you should keep a mixture of both. Keep your favorite vids, ditch the ones you don't love and get moar pinball! But that's just me.

Absolutely they should be titles that mean something to you. Otherwise, what's the point?

Get rid of galaxy and karate champ and call it a day

Why should a bunch of people on the internet who won't play in your house decide?

Put what you like in there and stop worrying about strangers' opinions. Deep down you have a preference. Follow it.

the trouble with keeping a combination of both is the room would be tight where the pins are with 2 feet of space between the machines. unless i was to keep them all against one wall which would decrease the number back down to 4. i will get the room dimensions and post them.
thanks

If you move the washer and dryer upstairs, you can add one more. You can also get rid of them all together and go to the laundromat.

Get more space is the easy solution. I am not suggesting storage units because with the monthly increase in storage fee normally means I need to sell a few to keep a few games in storage. Storage games don't get played or worked on a lot.

My solution is to drag your friends and buddies into this hobby. The supply the space and electricity. I supply the games. That seems to work for me for now.
